One of the big visitor magnets in Hall 5 will bea single-seater, lightweight racing car de-veloped by WAW, an association of Germanuniversity professors specializing in materialsengineering, in association with “Horse-Power”, a team of students at Leibniz Uni-versity, Hannover. The HorsePower team en-tered the jointly designed and built prototypein the Formula Student Germany 2007 designcompetition alongside 53 other teams fromaround the world. The aim of the competitionwas not just to have the fastest car, but ratherto create the best “overall package”. It alsosupplements the students’ studies with acrash-course in design, construction, costing,sales and marketing.
