I would like to welcome you all to the last issue of our newsletter for the year 2013. This issue marks the end of a very significant year for Dar Al Dawa; where the normal path and performance standard of the company have been restored and ascertained. The company’s overall targets have been achieved and exceeded and the mission to restructure the company and resume its strategic position nationally and internationally has been accomplished. The efforts that were initiated all through this year; covering various functional, structural and geographical areas have proved to be very effective and we are very much confident that when targets and strategies are set clear, sufficient resources are provided and the right people are on board then success becomes inevitable. We aspire now to achieve the company’s strategic vision to become a leading pharmaceutical organization worldwide.
This would have never been achieved without the bless of Allah, then the continuous and true support of the chairman; Dr. Abdulrahim Nizar Jardaneh and the board of directors, and the sincere and unconditional efforts of what is believed to be one of the best executive teams that has served in Dar Al Dawa so far.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank and congratulate our sales teams in the countries that repeatedly achieved and exceeded their sales targets throughout the year 2013; namely our teams in Jordan, Oman, Sudan and Kuwait. The dramatic shift in results and the exceptional performance improvement in these markets were by all means very impressive. I will surely and confidently build higher expectations from those specific teams and other promising teams in Dar Al Dawa family.
We have just finalized the preparation of our plan and budget for 2014 and have established some ambitious targets that are in line with our vision and capitalize on previous year’s achievements. We are looking for more vertical expansion in each of the markets we operate in, together with a smart selection of the
products portfolio with continuous emphasis on profitable performance. Our selection of new markets to penetrate is guided by future opportunities and strategic considerations and remains an area of focus during 2014. In addition, we have set a plan for strategic alliances with reputable organizations to add a competitive advantage for Dar Al Dawa and allow for strong penetration and presence in some important markets in the MENA region.
On the other hand, and in light of our commitment to share the company’s profits with those who helped achieving them and to ensure sustainable performance levels, the company has granted performance incentives to all of its employees. This doesn’t only stem from the fact that those employees did their best in serving the company now and in the past, but from our strong belief that the spirit of belonging, dedication and loyalty of all of Dar Al Dawa team is exemplary. Moreover, we are really proud of our corporate culture at Dar Al Dawa; that truly unites us as one big family and uniquely distinguishes us as one of the best working places in Jordan.
Well done dear colleagues, and please accept my sincere wishes for a happy and prosperous new year.

Dar Al Dawa Scienti�c event in Sri Lanka GIZLAN & ANTIPLEX
Dar Al Dawa Development and Investment company arranged a Scientific event in Sri Lanka inviting 14 Key Opinion Leaders of Cardiologists from Lebanon Market. Event took place in the beautiful city of Kandalama from 21st of Nov 2013 till the 28th. Several lectures were given during the event focusing on our both products Antiplex and Gizlan. Very interesting discussions were initiated related to the newest guidelines of Antiplex and Pre-launch of Gizlan in the Lebanese Market.

The marketing department has introduced a number of plans to better regulate the output of the sales & marketing department and to ensure that all activities are distributed and executed in a time-framed fashion that reflects the values and vision of Dar Al Dawa.Those plans include:• Marketing Power House (MPH)• Tactical Plan (TP)• Launch Readiness Review (LRR)In this issue we'll address the Tactical Plan.The Tactical Plan includes all activities and projects for the sales and marketing department of the calendar year in a time-bound, pre-assigned manner according to the below parameters:• Type of activity.• Budget allocation.• Tentative time and date.• Number of delegates.• Responsibility.• Key learnings.The Tactical Plan is built in collaboration with the sales department to assure alignment and it is reviewed on quarterly basis to assess and alter where allowed.The importance of such plans rises from the fact that they define the roadmap and define the responsibility of the promotional process throughout the year.

Analytical Research Department
Analytical research department is part of the Research and Development directory. The department main function is to provide analytical support for drug development and registration process according to ICH international standards. AR Department is divided into five sections: - Raw Material Section- Pre-Formulation and Development Section- Method Validation section- Stability studies section- Compliance section The department provides the following analytical services:- Method of analysis development and validation for new drugs- Method of analysis remediation for current drugs as a continuous improvement
for existing methods of analysis to meet regulatory and international standards updates.

Step into your world ...Rasha Jneid
I had the great privilege to work with Dar Al Dawa since February 2009 until present. Since day one, I felt that I am among members of my family, which to me was a very important aspect to feel comfortable in the working environment. Altogether with the team and my management, we were able to build-up a scheme that aimed at fostering our strategic products such as “Antiplex, Amlodar and Matador”
Similar to any successful Medical Representative who believes in his/her company and its products, and most importantly believes in his/herself, I was able to achieve the results I have been seeking for, despite the modest list of doctors that I inherited. With further efforts I was able to enrich my doctors list with potential doctors and Key Opinion leaders. Working with KOL has always been my target, and I never felt intimidated to work and deal with them because I believe that big numbers in sales come from big and important doctors. At the same time, our other doctors are also important to me and I deal with them in the same manner. I have always looked for important dispensaries, and tried to introduce myself as Dar AL Dawa as a company, and succeeded to introduce not only my products but also the whole company products.
I got promoted in the first few months of my employment to a Senior Medical representative and since that time I am the best achiever in the Lebanese Market with the achievement of 155% by end of 2012 and 111% for 2013. One of the most important challenges I faced was when I started working with Amlodar and Antiplex, because until that date, Dar Al Dawa was known as “an Antibiotics Company” only, with no previous history with cardiovascular products. Indeed, Antiplex was a big challenge not only for me, but also to the whole team, because it is a “life saving product” with no precedent results.
We have big trust in the excellent quality standards of our products, which enhanced the image of our company among the Cardiologist’s, and thereby created our success story. In fact I achieved 296% of my Antiplex target in the first year of its launch.
I would like to thank my management for their continuous support and for their belief in me. Also I would like to mention that honesty , perseverance and the belief that no competitors in the market can do better than we do, were keys to my success, without forgetting the team spirit and team work are the corner stones for any success, as the Japanese poet said:
“Individually we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean”.
Finally, “Success, is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it”.

Dar Al Dawa arranged an internal football (Thunderbolt) tournament in which several leagues participated from Dar Al Dawa departments. This special tournament depends on not only the skills in playing but also on the physical ability as the games are all performed in the same day.At the end of the tournament, Abdelrahman Al ghoul (Deputy CEO / Operations) awarded the winning first and the second leagues. Dar Al Dawa League receives membershipat Jordan Football Association

Jordan Football Association approved having Dar Al Dawa League as an official member in the association after having DAD Club identified at the Higher Youth Council as a Sport, Cultural and Social Club.
Dar Al Dawa Sport League is considered to be the first Sport League that belongs to a Jordanian company as a member in the association, after the intensive and constant follow up by the League administration represented by Mr. Ziad Shelbayeh. The league is currently getting ready to participate officially in the 3rd football tournament.
The Constituent body, appointed Dr. Abdelrahman Al Ghoul as the president of the Club , Dr. Amjad Bany Jaber as the Vice-president, Khlid Al Zubaidy as the Secretary, Mr. Basem Al Hourani as the Financial Manager , Mr. Ziad Yousef responsible for Self defense games, Dr. Raed Abu Fadda the official press representative , Dr. Anas Al Shishani responsible of Social and Cultural committees and Haytham Fouad responsible of Table tennis.
