NODAL WORKSHOP

1. LEP (Lower Extremity Prosthetics) Nodal Workshop

EIL Delhi Centre conducted a two day workshop on Lower Extremity Prosthetics on 3rd and 4th June 2015. It was conducted by Mr. John Ross (Blatchford). The purpose of this workshop was to familiarize the participants with the newly introduced LINX Integrated Foot and Knee Joint components and its fitment procedure.

2. LEO (Lower Extremity Orthotics) Nodal Workshop

EIL Chennai conducted a three day workshop on Lower Extremity Orthotics from 25th to 27th June 2015. Topic for the workshop was “Prescription & Fabrication methods of KAFO'”. The workshop was conducted by Mr. B. Suresh, (Nodal Head Orthotics) at Chennai. Seven participants attended the Workshop.

CASE STUDY- 1

Patient Details Name- Master Rohit Kumar Diagnosis- Phocomelia (Lt Lower Extremity) Age-7 yrs/ Male Fitted By- Endolite Bhopal Centre History: Master Rohit Kumar a patient of Phocomelia Lt Side, visited Endolite Bhopal Centre on 20 Mar 2015 for Prosthetic Solution. After evaluation he was explained about the prosthetic options available with endolite and prescribed EEK-BK System with modified Socket.

Patient with Prosthesis Fitment Plan: Although it was a complecated case, after due deliberations a double walled reinforced socket was fabricated and fitted to the patient. Training for donning/ doffing and walking inside/outside parallel bar was carried during this period. Patient feedback: The fitment of Prosthesis resulted was well received by the patient and greatly enhanced his self confidence. He is now able to comfortably sit on a school bench, which reduces his dependence on others. Master Rohit is now self reliant and has commenced his normal day to day activities. GUWAHATI MARATHON

Guwahati Centre: Participated in Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati Marathon on 29th Aug 2015 at Guwahati with 3 EIL fitted patients and 3 attendants. The performance of the participants was appreciated by all and acted as an ideal morale booster for the participants as well as attendants.

DELHI MARATHON

Delhi Centre: Participated Airtel Half Marathon on 29 Dec 2015 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium with 10 EIL fitted patients and 10 attendants along with EIL Director (Operations) & Clinic Director. Medals were given to all the participants.

KOLKATA MARATHON

Kolkata Centre: Participated in Marathon which was organized by Tata Steel for 25K race on 20th Dec 2015 at

Kolkata. There is a category of "Champion with disability" a 4KM running event for person with disability. 10 EIL fitted patients and 10 attendants along with RM-East participated.

INTRODUCING NEW ENDOLITE LINERS

Silcare Breathe Liners

A liner with Sweat-Management Technology a new direction in silicone liner technology: Silcare Breathe Liners features laser drilled perforations along the length and distal end to allow moisture to escape, resulting in drier skin and a healthier environment for the residual limb. Managing moisture in this way helps to reduce the damaging effects of friction and improve comfort and control.

Comfort Liner

The new Endolite Comfort Liner is gentle on fragile skin and protects residual limbs with areas susceptible to shear force abrasion and pressure peaks. The fabric cover with integrated matrix contours perfectly to the limb and zonal stretch areas allow comfortable knee flexion but resists distal stretch which would result in the prosthesis slipping away from the body.

ISHWAR-MCH-KbH MISSION- 2015 (25th July-2015 - 04th – August- 2015)

ISHWAR- MCH-KbH Mission: 2014 - 2015 was conducted from 25th July to 4th August 2015.It was conducted at on three different locations i.e. Leh, Kargil and Srinagar. The following hospitals in the three cities were selected:

1. SNM Hospital, Leh. 2. Kargil District Hospital, Kargil 3. Khyber Medical Institute, Srinagar

SNM Hospital, Leh Pre- Screening Programme

Selection of patients for surgeries was conducted and first phase (Screening) was carried out on 24th July 2015.

Final Corrective Surgeries Final surgeries were carried out from 25th -26th July, 2015 and Cast removal was carried out on 26th July, 2015 kn at SNM Hospital, Leh.

Recasting after Surgery Memento Distribution

ISHWAR & Riello PCI, P&O FITMENT CAMP FOR POOR HANDICAPPED AT FARIDABAD

As CSR initiative, Riello PCI India Pvt. Ltd in collaboration with International Society for Human Welfare and Rehabilitation (ISHWAR) planned to execute a Camp for Fitment of Prosthesis and Orthosis for benefit of Poor Physically Handicapped Persons of NCR Delhi, Faridabad and adjoining Areas. The pre screening Camp to select the deserving and access them for their Specific requirement by the trained prosthetists was conducted on 03 rd Dec, 2015 on the occasion of World Disability Day at Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Society, Sector 86, Tigaon Road, Faridabad. This will be followed by Final Fitment Camp on 16th Jan 2016 at the same location.

Selection of patients for Orthotics and Prosthetics Fitments was carried out on 03rd Dec 2015. A total of 67 physically challenged patients have registered for requirement of Prosthetic and Orthotic devices. Out of 67 patients, 29 Patients (Fitments-39, 10 being bilateral patient) were selected for Final Fitment on 16th Jan 2016.

Efforts of ISHWAR towards the benefit of poor handicapped persons were appreciated by all.
