Eaton’s Distributor Meeting 2013
The theme at this year’s EDM was Power, and there was plenty of it on
display. The exhibition had the ever
growing DuraForce pump and motor product line, with more displace-
ments and controls, giving us more
power in a smaller package.
Also on display were the DowMax™
motors, which
range in
size from 99 to 4097
c.c. in
displace-ment.
Another impressive product line shown was the recently acquired Jeil
swing drive. These units are designed
to rotate the large booms on excava-tors, cranes, concrete pumpers, and
other large vehicles.
Rounding out the Power Theme were
the Hydre-Mac motors. (pictured above). These massive motors are
designed for super high torque and
very low speeds. Displacements
range from 2000 to 150,000 cc. More on these and other products
inside. Overall, the Eaton Distributor
Meeting this year was a huge success with over 1,100 attendees including
participants from over 40 countries.
HSC employees can see many of the presentations loaded on our server.
You now have the POWER available
from Eaton to meet your customer’s demanding needs. Let’s start looking
for those applications
and make the com-ing year the most
POWERFUL ever!
Thank you,

Eaton introduced their new line of low speed high torque motors at this years EDM. To complement their exist-ing line, the Dowmax™ is now available to distribution. These motors range from 99 to 4097 cc/rev. and pressures to over 3900 p.s.i. Operating speeds up to 1000 r.p.m. These motors are made to compete in
the same applications as Staffa, KYB, Hag-glund, and Poclain.
…...“4 X 40” was held to celebrate their
amazing accomplishment. Jim Inglis, CEO
and Luis Abellon, President presided over
the festivities with accolades for all four.

Eaton is pleased to announce that additional Proportional Valves have been included in the list of localized product in Searcy for the
America’s market. This will significantly help us grow proportional valve business, especially where lead-time is critical to the buying
decision.
The newly added Proportional Valve families are: KCG-3 , KDG4V-3 & 5, KBDG4V-3 & 5, KBFDG4V-3 & 5, and KBSDG4V-3
While completed valves are not in stock, all the components are there to make them.
Below is the list of Proportional valves that are localized in Searcy plant with A or B lead-time segmentation code.
* Still imported from Eaton Havant plant and scheduled for Q4 2013 for localiza-tion in Searcy. Lead-time is current.
The Proportional Valve lead-time in Cus-
tomer Connect has been updated to
reflect these changes.
We will continue to work on localization
of the rest of Proportional Valve families
to improve lead-time.

Edgar Suarez and Dennis Matute in
the distribution build area have assem-
bled and tested over 160 Eaton Vick-
ers Vane Pumps. On September 11th
of this year we built our 100th pump.
The program provides a quick re-
sponse to our customers needs, allow-
ing us to assemble, test, and ship small
quantities of over 7000 combinations
of vane pumps in 24 hours.
Earlier this month we delivered pump number
100! Today we are over 160 and going strong.
We’ve also started producing the V10F and
V20F flow control version of the square
pumps. Our first one is pictured here. There
are literally thousands of combinations of
flows and pres-
sures as well as
mounting and
shaft options
available. Our
catalog will show
a few of the popu-
lar model codes,
and we will be
able to make the
right combination
to fit your applica-
tion. Contact our

Vision Statement
Quality, Integrity, Service
We’re on the Web www.hydraulic-supply.com
Using this attention getting statement you
then refer to what that particular product or
service has to offer the customer.
In this case we used:
If we could show you a way to reduce the
package size of your power unit, eliminate
noise, and reduce leaks you’d want to know
about it wouldn’t you?
But of course! We then proceeded with
gaining more interest and our use of evi-
dence to help convince the customer the
IMP was a good solution.

Sell… Don’t Quote, continued… by Bob Tripp
As a refresher…the five great rules of selling are:
1. Gaining ATTENTION
2. Creating INTEREST
3. Convincing the customer CONVICTION
4. Creating DESIRE
5. And the CLOSE
So…Let’s Gain some Attention…
Recently I went on a sales call to help support
an opportunity to sell Eaton’s Integrated Motor
Pump. To Gain the customer’s attention, one
uses a statement similar to:
If I could show you a way to…*****you’d want to
know about it wouldn’t you?

Vane Pump # 100 Ships! Selling Vane….
Series V10, V20, V2010, and V2020 fixed displace-
ment pumps are of Vickers
“balanced vane type” con-
struction.
Enhanced Bearing Life
Internal inlet and outlet pres-
sure chambers are diametri-
cally opposed. As a result,
pressure-induced radial loads
are balanced, and bearings have to carry the external
load only, WHICH MEANS…LONG LIFE.
High Performance
Low vane tip/ring loading allows high pressure opera-
tion. High speeds are possible because the inlet flow
paths are de-signed to give uniform oil acceleration,
and thus better filling characteristics, particularly at
low inlet pressures. THIS MEANS, MEETING YOUR
APPLICATION REQUIRMENTS, HIGH EFFECIEN-
CIES RESULITING IN LOWER SYSTEM HEAT.
Serviceability
The design of these pumps makes them last longer,
and all parts are serviceable WHICH MEANS LOW
COST OF OWERNSHIP.
