Things You Can Do At Home:1. Seasonal Paper Chains:

Help your child tape together 1-by-8-inch strips of construction paper to create a chain that contains as many loops as there are days remaining before a holiday or special event. Let your child count the loops each time one is added to the chain. Each day, have your child remove one of the loops and count the remaining loops to determine how many days are left before the holiday.

    2. Letters Letters Everywhere:

Whenever your child expresses interest in a letter from the alphabet, help him or her discover that letter on book covers, cereal boxes, soup cans, or pages from a magazine or newspaper. Take your child for a walk in the neighborhood and look for that letter on street signs and billboards.

    3. Holiday Story-time:

Have your child “read” his or her favorite holiday story to you or other family members. Your child will also enjoy reading the story to his or her favorite toy.
