Message: Randy Garrett,
Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief
Associational Meeting
March 21
LRRBA Association Office
1325 Heber Springs Rd., S, Heber Springs
Randy Garrett serves as the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Disaster Relief Director. As a life-long resident of the Little Rock area, Randy and his wife,
Charlotte, have raised four children who are now raising his ten grandchildren. Hurricane Katrina introduced Randy to Disaster Relief when he and some church buddies jumped in a truck with chainsaws to help in Louisiana. Much training, experience, and years later, Randy took the leadership of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Disaster Relief.
A business graduate of the University of Arkansas, Randy retired from Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) after 28 years. An avid hunter, outdoorsman, and Razorback fan, Randy’s mission is to bring volunteers together to serve people in need while sharing the Gospel.
Our Emphasis for the March Meeting will
be Disaster Relief. The LRRBA Disaster
Relief Team (identified by their yellow
shirts) will be providing the meal and
helping with serving, parking, etc...
Due to limited parking, please do your
best to carpool, or come together in
your church van. Parking attendants will
direct you to the parking area behind
the building.
Financial Report - February 2016
“I am the rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the valleys.” Song of Solomon 2:1
Have you noticed the bright yellow lilies this year? I think their proper name is daffodils. It seems their color is almost florescent. I don’t think I have ever seen them so bright. It seems like they are coming out late this year. The roses and the lilies remind us of the beauty of the Savior. Jesus spoke of the lilies in one of his sermons and said, “Solomon in all his glory is not arrayed like one of these.” The lilies are a sign that spring is just around the corner. Spring, the budding of the trees, the grass coming back to life, the birds singing all remind me of the Savior. Remember, in Him was Life and the Life was the Light of men. Heaven will be a beautiful time of spring. The tree of life budding and blooming and the leaves for the healing of the nations. Happiness, joy, and peace, and signs of life all around. I guess you can tell that I love this time of year. Paul Harvey tells a story of the lilies in a church parking lot. He said beside the flower beds in four inches of black-top pavement the Easter lilies burst through the pavement. This showed Paul Harvey that the pavement could not hold them back when God decided to bring them forth. It’s the same way with Jesus in the tomb. When it was His time to come forth, nothing could hold Him back. “He arose, He arose, Halleluiah Christ arose.” Have a happy Easter, Bro. Larry
