It is my wish that everyone has had a good beginning of the year. Every New Year, I evaluate how well I did in the previous year and plan what I would like to accomplish in this New Year. As everyone in Thread Benders know, I make a list of projects (UFOS and new) that I want to complete in the coming year. In 2018, I had a list of 15 projects, I added 20 to that list and completed 8 projects. Usually, I do a much better job at completing pro- jects, but frustration was the word for the year in 2018. Because of this my list is much longer this year. My list is starting with 27 projects. My plan is to try to complete at least 20 and not adding any more projects to the list (Wishful Thinking). I am looking forward to this year. We have a lot of talented members and we are growing each meeting. We have our quilt show at the end of the year, and there are many quilt shows to attend and get good ideas from between now and the show. I hope that you are successful in all that you do and be sure to share each complet- ed project at a meeting so we can all be inspired to complete our own projects. MISSION OUTREACH

Happy New Year. Here we are in 2019 and I pray each one of you will have a most blessed year in many ways. With a new year comes opportunity for new beginnings, new resolutions and new friendships. Red River Quilters and Mission Outreach provide opportunities for all of the above; just participate. At Mission Outreach we closed 2018 as a "record breaking year" with 316 Quilts made and donated. Whether you participate in Mission Outreach or not, I encourage each member of RRQ to make at least one Love Wrapper. It might be one with the children's hands/art or one from orphan blocks or whatever design you will enjoy creating. If you are not up for do-ing the quilting and binding, how about just make a top and we'll finish it. Experience the joy of sharing your talent in this small way. Dates for Mission Outreach, 2019, are following: January 11-12, February 22-23 (this is a new date for February due to church plans), March 29-30, April 26-27, May 24-25, June 28-29, July 25-27 (3 day event), August 23-24, September 20-21, October 18-19, November 22-23. We meet from 9-3 Friday and Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2565 Airline Drive, Bossier City. Come for what ever part of the time you are available. Be sure your name is on the e-mail reminder list, or if you have ques-tions contact me, Cathy Ward. cathyHward @bellsouth.net
