NEWS FEATURE
AICB will be honouring its 2014 graduates and award recipients at the 18th AICB Graduation & Awards Ceremony, to be held at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 23rd May, 2015.
The Institute has been sending out notification
letters and registration forms in March, and
2014 graduates and award recipients can
expect to receive them in the mail soon.
Alternatively, registration forms can be
downloaded from the AICB website (www.
aicb.org.my/events/grace-2015-2).
All graduates are encouraged to attend the
event. Attendees may bring along guests at the
rate of RM250 per person.

BANGALDESH BANKING INDUSTRY LEADERS VISIT AICB
Prominent leaders from the
Bangladesh banking industry
paid a visit to the Institute
on 11 March, 2015. The
delegation of eight officials
comprised representatives
from the Bangladesh Bank, the
Ministry of Finance and other
government agencies.
Representing Bangladesh
Bank were its Executive
Director, Mr Nirmal Chandra
Bhakta, SME & Special
Programmes Department
(SMESPD) Deputy Director, Mr
Syed Nazrul Islam, SMESPD
General Manager, Mr Swapan
Kumar Roy and SMESPD
Deputy General Manager,
Mr Md Ashraful Alam. The
Bangladesh Ministry of
Finance was represented
by its Economic Relations
Division Deputy Secretary
Mr Monoranjan Biswas and
Bank & Financial Institution
Division Joint Secretary Mr
Arijt Chowdhury. Also in the
delegation were the Planning
Commission’s Socio Economic
Infrastructure Division
Assistant Chief Mr Golam Md
Baten and SME Foundation
General Manager Mr S M
Shaheen Anwar.
The delegation was welcomed
with an opening statement
from AICB Chief Executive
Mr Tay Kay Luan. In his
speech, he said AICB was
always willing to share its
experience and exchange
views on development
programs it conducts. This
was followed by a brief from
Kristine Williams, AICB Head of
Marketing & Communications,
on the Institute’s initiatives
and activities, and another
presentation on the AICB
curriculum by Hartinah
Yunus, Head of Education.
Ahmad Fairuz, the Asian
Banking School (ABS) Head of
Professional Development then
spoke about the educational
programs and qualifications
conducted at the School.
With the briefing session
wrapped up, delegates
were then invited to some
refreshments before an
exchange of souvenirs
between Mr Tay and Mr Nirmal
and a group photo session.
