In Nissan Motor case, the Permanent Court of Arbitration

in Singapore has rejected India’s argument that the Court does

not have jurisdiction for handling the case. ―Indian government will most likely file an appeal in the

Singapore’s Supreme Court. The acceptance of India’s

argument would have led to the throwing out of the whole case.

―In 2016 Japan’s Nissan sent a legal notice to the Indian

Government claiming Rs 5,000 (USD 720 million) crores. This

claim included Rs 2,900 crore in unpaid incentives and Rs

incentives including tax breaks to Nissan and France’s
