66.. CCrreeddiibbiilliittyy//TTrruusstt:: More than any other medium, consumers believe in newspaper advertising.Compared with their opinion of TV or radio ads, abouttwice as many consumers believe that newspaperadvertising trustworthy.

77.. SSeelleeccttiivvee vvss.. iinnttrruussiivvee:: Shoppers today are lesswilling to accept advertising that is spooned out tothem. They seek out advertising on their own.Newspapers are the medium shoppers use most forshopping in an average week. More than half (52%)use newspapers, ads appearing in search engines(11%) or ads on general interest websites (16%).(Frank N. Magid Associates 2011.)

88.. EEnnvviirroonnmmeenntt:: The editorial environment typicallyadds credibility and legitimacy to the brand beingadvertised. To readers, the advertising in a newspaperis every bit as important as the news.

TESTIMONIALS

2013

As a long time advertiser with The Newport Daily News, I eagerly look forward to each issue, notjust to check ad placement but also because I genuinely admire the publication as a rare exampleof journalistic quality while the newspaper business in general is having a hard time surviving. They make sure the important hard news from the wire service is in the front section, and thelocal coverage is thorough and engaging. I especially appreciate the photos and stories featuringathletes from our local schools- the professionalism of this coverage is an enormous service toour community.
