October Monthly Meeting

This Month’s Meeting Will Be Monday, October 15, 2018 at 7pm.

The Brunswick Kitchen

5197 Brunswick Road

Dinner will be served from 5:30p to 7pm. The meeting will begin at 7pm.

From Highway 70 (Summer Avenue) turn north on Brunswick Road and go a

mile or so where you will cross some railroad tracks. About a half a block up

on the left is Brunswick Kitchen.

Nelson & Janet Baker

Nelson and Janet’s beautiful ‘63 Impala SS was originally sold

to Bobby Kelley in Camden, Tennessee. It was stolen and the

thief wrecked in ‘64. It sat in the police impound lot until it

sold at auction for $450. They bought it in 2001 and restored

it in 2004. It was in rough shape when they got it!

The Brunswick Kitchen

As of September 1, The Brunswick Kitchen is

under new ownership! Jason & Heather Hill

have purchased the Kitchen from Miss Ann

and Andy. Miss Ann will be staying on for a

while helping with the transition, sharing rec-

ipes, and mentoring the Hills. We need to all

have patience with the staff as they get their

system in place! Be sure to make them feel

welcome! And be generous with your $ tips.

After all, they’re opening the Kitchen on the

3rd Monday especially for us for our meetings!

The Second Annual F-Body Nationals is in the books! In spite of the less

than favorable weather, there was a great showing of Camaro and Firebirds

at MIR from across the nation. There were cars registered from 25 different

states! We want to thank the Memphis Classic Chevy Club for volunteering

once again! You guys ROCK!!!

It’ll be Christmas Before You Know It….

2018 is quickly passing by! October will be very busy month

for the Memphis Classic Chevy Club. Mark your calendar now

for all the upcoming events. You don’t have to attend each and

everyone of them, but if they’re already on your datebook,

you’ll know your options!

In late September, we took a cruise to Lost In The Fifties. The

first week of October was Cruisin’ The Coast. The Tennessee

Baptist Children’s Home Car & Bike Show at Bellevue Baptist

Church happened. There will be a cruise to George Poteet’s

place in Holly Springs. There’s a Trunk or Treat event at NAS

Millington. We’re planning a fall cookout. Then the Christmas

party. We’re working on another cruise to Don Baskin’s

Museum in early spring.

Whew!

Then, there are the club officer nominations in October and the

club officer elections in November. Be thinking about who you

know, including yourself, that might like to serve as a club of-

ficer. It’s a lot of fun!

Cruisin’ to…

Lost in the 50’s

It was a beautiful day for a cruise to the country! In rural west Tennes-

see there sits a quaint little ‘community’ called Lost In The 50’s.

LIT50’s is the brainchild of Ron and Debbie Embrey. It is an evolution of

‘businesses’ taking a number of years to build. While they aren’t open to

the public like a regular business or restaurant, they open for reserved

events like ours. The setting is surreal, the food is wonderful, and every-

one enjoyed themselves!
