PURPOSETo provide you with sufficient information so that you and your teen can select courses which are challenging, but not overwhelming; and courses which are of interest and which help broaden one’s perspectives and skills.

SIGNIFICANT CHANGES
1. Minimum number of credits/courses per year increases from 5 to 6.
2. Beginning with the class of 2018, graduation requirements will increase from 21 credits to 25 credits

In general, honors classes are for students who:• Are curious learners with a history of

GRADE POINT AVERAGES(GPA)
Honors classes get more weight when determining GPA.
An ‘A’ in academic English 9 is worth 4.0 quality points.
An ‘A’ in honors English 9 is worth 4.2 quality points.
