Hello, I would like to share this tutorial to increase the in-cal l volume.

With a root explorer go to / system / etc / and look for the folder "snd_soc_msm"

Inside, you have 4 files (snd_soc_msm_Tapan ... etc). Open each file with root explorer and search this

paragraph (mid)

SectionDevice

Name "Voice Earpiece"

How "Handset Rx device for voice cal l "

In this section, you have a line entitled 'RX1 Digi tal Volume': 1: 68

Edit the value 68 by 72 (a little louder) or 75 (louder) and save the change. This must be done for the 4 files

in the folder .

Only for the f i rst f i le (snd_soc_msm_tapan) you have also to edit one value

SectionDevice

Name "Earpiece"

Comment "Handset Rx device"

In this section, you have a line entitled 'RX1 Digi tal Volume': 1: 68

Edit the value 68 by 72 (a little louder) or 75 (louder) and save the change.

You can also extract the folder on your PC and edit the files with Notepad ++ and reinjected them to the

same location.

N.B. By proceeding this way set the permissions (as they were in the original) of the folder and the 4 files.

The folder should be drwxr-xr-x and the 4 files -rw-r-r--

Reboot after changes

Guys, I had the problem of very low volume of ringtones on headset, means if someone will call me, the

volume of ringtone was very soft/low. I tried apps like VolumeBooster and Volume+, but none helped. I

rooted my device and went to /etc/snd_soc_msm and there are 4 files.

I only changed one file snd_soc_msm_Tapan.

In this file, I only changed the following values

In SectionDevice

Name "Speaker"

RX4 Digi tal Volume':1:70 to RX4 Digi tal Volume':1:75

Next, In SectionDevice

Name "Speaker Headset"

RX1 Digital Volume':1:55 to RX1 Digital Volume':1:75

RX1 Digital Volume':1:55 to RX1 Digital Volume':1:75

'RX4 Digital Volume':1:68 to 'RX4 Digital Volume':1:75

Saved the file and rebooted.

My speaker volume is increased now.

Important: Take the backup of orig inal f i le before making any change and move to PC and

then transfer a copy of edited f i le also to PC for future, as any f lash update wi l l revert to

default settings.

Buddy...Finally You have given the solution of the low ringtone volume issue. Though the line you

suggested does not increase the speaker volume, but the best thing was you told where all these settings

are. I played with this file and could increase the volume. Finally..Many thanks kuan2..

can you tell me how can you extract the system files to PC. I can see and edit them using Root explorer, but

when i connect to PC, i only see the sdcard foler. I do not see the system file and folders. Sorry, i am

newbie in android, so asking these things.

You have to copy the folder "snd_soc_msm" from the internal memory to external sd card with your root

explorer and then transfer it to your computer and edit with notepad++

Can you elaborate on what you actually changed for the benefit of others? I am also experiencing low

ringtone volume. =(
