  • Background

    The NEWgeneratorTM

is a resource recovery machine that harvests energy, nutrient fertilizers and clean water from human or food wastes. The machine achieves a high level of waste treatment through the use of state-of-the-art anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) technology. Extensive pathogen destruction is achieved to ensure safe sanitation. This robust, low-energy and off-the-grid technol-ogy is compact and flexible, and enables a number of treat-ment and resource reuse applications.

    Sanitation Capabilities

Thermophillic anaerobic digestion efficiently inactivates pathogens as resilient as Giardia and Ascaris. Sludge solids is destroyed biologically and converted to biogas, nutrients are liberated and filtered.

Ultrafiltration membranes provide an absolute barrier with nano-sized pores for pathogen removal and safe dewatering. After membrane filtration, the permeate is subjected to elec-trochlorination to ensure microbial stability of the finished wa-ter during storage (similar to treatment for drinking water). The water meets WHO water reuse standards.

  • Features Summary: Resource Recovery

The use of anaerobic digestion allows for the efficient re-covery of energy, nutrients and water from wastewater.

Embodied energy is recovered in the form of Biogas, which can be used for heating or electrical conversion.

Nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous are re-leased by digestion and allowed to be reused for plant growth

Clean, pathogen-free water leaves the system after treatment. Perfect for irrigation or other reuse applica-tions, including toilet flushing.

Direct fertigation tested for growing food and material crops, and microalgae for biofuel. Greenhouse testing to observe hydroponic growing conditions of crops
