x I Bishop Scully Confirms 400 at St. Peter's Catholic Church Ceremony Harks First ce 1942 The Most Rev. William A. Scully, Bishop Coadjutor of the Catholic Diocese of Albany, administered Hie sacrament of Confirmation yes- terday to the largest class in the history of St. Peter's Catholic Church In Impressive ceremonies. More than 400 persons received the rite, making up the first class to be confirmed since 1942. A, large group of adults were among the conflrmants. Altars were arranged attractively with white and red flowers. Girls in the class wore white gowns with net veils fastened to wreaths and the boys dark suits and white shirts and ties. Bishop Scully preaching the Con- nrmation sermon reminded the class, that in receiving the Sacra- ment of Confirmation they were being received as soldiers of Christ, that the sacrament of baptism had made them citizens of Christ and that service was simply completed "In the administration of Confirma- tion by making them soldiers of Christ. He admonished all to carry on as soldiers in the army, battling against the evils which beset the world today and seek to strike out against law and order as Christ taught it and as the church knows It. The " Bishop wore the official robes of his office for the cere- mony, and was accompanied by his secretary, the Rev. Thomas Mee- han. Deacons were the Very Rev. John W. McCall, V.S., a native of this city, who celebrated his first Mass at St. Peter's, now pastor at St. Patrick's Church, Johnstown. The Very Rev. James E. Gunn, C.SS.R., pastor of St. Clement's was sub-deacon and assisted by Fathers Lawrence P. Kelly, Stillwater; John J. McNamara, Greenfield Cen- ter; Edward Sheehan, Johnstown; Pierre Levesque, Lake George. Stated in the sanctuary were the Rt. Rev.
