Floridatravels to NYC having won four of the last six meetings at MSG. The teams will meet again in Florida on Dec. 30 and in New York Jan.5. HOT PLAY: Florida has a four-game point streak (3-0-1) - shy of its season-long six-game point streak Oct. 29-Nov. 10 (3-0-3). ThePanthers are 7-2-2 in their last 11 games and 16-8-5 on the season, the team's best start since going 17-8-2-2 through 29 games in1999-2000. FIGHTING FOR FIRST: Entering play Saturday, the Panthers held a six-point lead for the top spot in the Southeast Division –thelargest division lead in the NHL - and were tied with Philadelphia for most points in the Eastern Conference. According to Elias SportsBureau, the last time the Panthers were first in the Eastern Conference after October was Feb. 12, 1997 (28-15-13, 69 points). ROAD WARRIORS: The Panthers finish off a stretch of seven games - including six road games - in 13 nights Sunday. Florida hasearned 21 points on the road this season (10-6-1), tied with Philadelphia for most wins and points away from home in the EasternConference. Entering Saturday, Florida’s +12 road goal differential was second best in the league (BOS +15) and the Panthers 49 roadgoals ranked third in the NHL. BLUELINE BOMBER: Jason Garrison extended his NHL lead for most goals among defensemen with his ninth goal of the seasonFriday, his fifth power-play goal to overtake the team lead. The goal marked the first time this season Brian Campbell did not earn anassist, having previously tallied a helper on all eight of Garrison’s blasts from the point. Garrison had just seven goals in his careerentering this season (113 games, 2009-11) and through 29 games this season is just four points shy of matching his career high of 18points (5-13-18), set last season in 73 games.

TOP OUTPUT: The Fleischmann-Weiss-Versteeg line has accounted for 36 of the team's 81 goals this season (44.4%) and 89 (36-53-

89) of the team's 218 points (81-137-218), good for 40.8% of Florida’s offensive output. Fleischmann and Weiss are T-3rd in the NHL

with +16 ratings, while Versteeg (+15) is T-6th. The trio has failed to record at least one point in just six games this season, only four

games when the Panthers weren’t shutout.  THE FLASH: Tomas Fleischmann notched an assist Friday and has six points (1-5-6) in a four-game point streak, while also totaling atleast one point in 19 of his last 23 games. He already holds Florida’s longest point streak this season –seven games (4-5-9, 10/22-11/6)and his four-game assist streak (5) is one shy of Florida’s season-high of six games (Kulikov, 6, 10/31-11/10). With 30 points (12-18-30)in 29 games this season, he’s more than halfway to topping his career high of 51 points (23-28-51) set in 69 games with Washington in2009-10.

OFFENSIVE OUTBURST: Kris Versteeg tallied an assist Friday to earn his 30th point of the season, tied with Fleischmann for most onthe Panthers. He leads Florida 13 goals on the season and is well on his way to surpassing his career high of 53 points (22-31-53), setin 78 games with Chicago in 2008-09. HELP FROM THE POINT: Florida defensemen have contributed 75 points (16-59-75) on the season, the most points from blueliners inthe NHL. Jason Garrison leads the NHL in goals by defensemen with nine, Brian Campbell is fourth among all NHL players and secondamong defensemen with 22 assists and Dmitry Kulikov’s 20 points (3-17-20) are T-4th for most among all defensemen. BETWEEN THE PIPES: Jose Theodore posted a 40-save shutout in his 600th NHL game Thursday and is 5-1-1 in his last sevengames with a .948 SV% in that span. He leads the Panthers with an 11-5-3 record on the season, posting a .929 SV%, a 2.17 GAA andtwo shutouts in 20 games. Scott Clemmensen is 3-0-1 with a .913 SV%, a 2.23 GAA and one shutout on the season after missing 18games with lower-body injuries. KILLER CATS: Florida matched a season high, going 5-for-5 on the penalty kill Friday. The Panthers have killed off 11 straight powerplays over their last three games and are 40-for-43 (93.0%) on the penalty kill over their last 14 games. On the season, Florida hasallowed just 13 power play goals, T-3rd for fewest in the NHL. However, Florida has allowed its opponent more power playopportunities than the Panthers in two straight games. This comes after Florida entered the road trip having more power plays than itsopponent in 13 of it last 14 contests, and 23-of-27 games this season. 2011-12 FLORIDA PANTHERS HIGHS/LOWS &FRANCHISE RECORDS
