I am grateful that the majority of members in club organisation and management roles have continued in their positions this season to help to build on the successes of last season. The “Social Spaces transformation” with matched funding from the RFU was a great achievement. The club bar interior is looking fantastic with new technology which will help make it a great place to watch rugby and especially the World Cup. Thank you to all members who were involved in any form in the completion of the transformation.

We continue to look at opportunities for further improvement both on and off the pitch and I would encourage any members who have ideas or are prepared to spend time helping as part of the house, development or other committees to please get involved to build on last season’s success.

To all those who volunteer and help at the club in any capacity, thank you. Without your time and commitment the club would not be able to function and provide the excellent sporting and social base for a game that I, and I’m sure you all, enjoy and love.

Here’s to a great season, for all senior players and for our ever growing Youth Section and no matter what the result let’s all have an enjoyable time in the club maybe with drink or two with a few friends. Cheers.

Mini and Junior Section

Age groups play and train on Sunday mornings usually from 10.30am – noon.

All coaches are RFU qualified and are DBS checked.

Baby Bears (Reception & Year 1) – do not play matchesUnder 7’s (year 2) – Under 10’s (year 5) play mini rugbyUnder 11’s (year 6) & Under 12’s (year 7) play midi rugby.Under 13’s (year 8) up to Under 17’s (Year 12) play Junior rugby

All children taking part in Rugby at Walsall RFC must be paid up members of the Club and be RFU registered.A parent from each family should become a member of the club and all children must be accompanied by a parent during each training session or match.

It is highly recommended that your child wearsMouth protection during training and matches. Gum shields/mouth guards are available from the shop but it is worth checking with your dentist as some provide them free of charge on the nhs.

New players are always welcome to come and join usno matter what experience you have.

Opening hours

The Club will be open half an hour before the bar opens.

Times will vary for booked events.

If you are looking for a venue for a party, a meeting, a conference or any other occasion please ask Fran or Sara and they will look after you.

Full Members can hire the club for parties for free with Social & Parent members can hire it for 50% of the usual fee.

Club Shop

The Club Shop is open before a 1st XV home game on a Saturday.

It is also open on a Sunday morning from 11am during the season.

Also on training nights, Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30pm

Kukri have an online service at http://www.kukrisports.co.uk/teamshop/walsallrfctrainingkitDelivery times are up to 20 days.

Kukri continue to supply the club with kit. All available from the shop and also online.

Please remember that any kit bought for teams must be bought through the shop – speak to Alan for your kit needs. He will be happy to help.

Mouth guards, umbrellas, boots, balls and Club ties are also available from the shop

Sponsorship and Advertising Opportunities for members 2015-16

Match day sponsorship £500 includes entry to the match and a buffet for the sponsor and 20 guests.

Player sponsorship£200 includes the name of your business in the match day programme at every home game of the season and advertising space on our website.

All sponsors will be invited to attend Walsall v Crewe & Nantwich on 12th September 2015 with a buffet lunch before the game.

Member’s Dos and Don’ts

Walsall Rugby Club wants everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves. However there are certain rules, especially those from the RFU, that all members must abide by;- Spectators are not permitted at any time or in any circumstance to go onto the pitch- Players and spectators are asked to respect referees, opposition and those from our own club at all times – do not criticize players, decisions or play even if you disagree with them- First aid should only be administered by those holding an RFU approved qualification otherwise the club’s insurance may be invalidated- People are permitted to take photographs for their own purpose but should not publish these, for example on social media, identifying anyone under the age of 18 other than their own son or daughter. - Youth players under the age of 18 are the responsibility of their parents at all times and should not be left during any session or game – our coaches do not take on loco parentis- The RFU require all communications regarding Youth players under the age of 18 to be with their parents and/or carers, unlessthere is exceptional circumstances and not with the children themselves- The use of the club facilities is open to all members but these must be pre-arranged and agreed with the club Manager or Administrator- No activities should take place away from the club without the agreement of the club’s executive officers, as in the event ofinjury the club’s insurance will be invalid- No rugby activities should take place outside of the RFU season without the permission of the club’s executive officers - The name Walsall Rugby Union Football Club, or any connotation of this, as well as the club logo, should not be used by any person to create an identity that can be reasonably considered to represent the club.- No person may enter into an agreement, or seek out goods or services in the name of the club, or purport to represent the club except for its executive officers.
