PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEI want to thank Deb Ferrel for a great job putting together the 2019 FMHA banquet. It was a great evening. I was so happy to see such a large crowd there. I am looking forward to another successful year. I also want to congratulate newly elected Board members Valarie Siemer, Glenn Winograd, Alicia Davis, and Karen Barber Gardner. MEMBERS MEETING AT CITRUS CUPThere will be a short, but important FMHA meeting following the Wednesday morning session. We need a quorum to vote on adding the Dixie Cup show to the list of High Point eligible shows. Lunch will be provided, so please make sure to come.

FMHA ANNUAL MEETING AND BANQUETOn a cool and crisp day in Ocala, Cheri Barber Stables hosted an open barn and stallion presentation prior to the Florida Morgan Horse Association Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony. About 60 people were in attendance while Cheri and her assistants, Dave Gowans and Erlene Smythe, showcased Grand Cru Dom Perignon (Treble’s Willy Wild x Sizzle), DSD Esperance (WC Stonecroft Masquerade x Amollia) and Stonecroft Trilogy (WC Stonecroft Masquerade x Ladybird Command). The cooler weather was just what the horses needed to put on a beautiful presentation. There were appetizers, cold drinks and of course Cheri provided a wonderful selection of international wines. After the open barn everyone headed to the Holiday Inn, Ocala for cocktails, dinner, a silent and live auction and the Year End High Point awards. Rebecca Watters and Diane Tanguay worked to tabulate all the high points and present winners with bridle bags and ribbons for the 2018 season. After the awards for the youth, Valarie Siemer hosted all the kids in a horse game and craft session while the rest of the awards were given.Tom Johnson, President of FMHA emceed the event which was chaired by FMHA member, Deb Ferrell, with the help of the FMHA Board. Next year’s banquet will be held in Tampa, Florida and we hope to see all our FMHA members there as well. Debbie Ferrell

MINUTES FMHA Annual MeetingJanuary 26, 2019Meeting was called to order at 6:08pm by president Tom Johnson. He welcomed everyone and introduced the current officers: Kris Cole, VP; Allison Lockhart, Treasurer; Felicia Schlemmer, Secretary;

Election of new officers. There are four open positions and seven in the running. Tom opened it up for nominations from the floor. There were no nominations from the floor. Motion made by Kris Cole to accept the nominees, seconded by Becca Waters. Ballots were distributed.

Treasury report given by Allison LockhartTotal in the checking account in $20,059. Citrus Cup was a success. Income from Citrus Cup was 60K.Summers End was also a success. Income from Summers End was 43K.

The September minutes were read and accepted.

Andrea Whelpton read the Tropical Trotters report.There are 27 members. The goals are to teach teamwork. They are working on the newsletter. They said thank you to all for their support, they had raised $510.Proposals were made for by-law changes. Steps are as follows. Step 1. Publish the proposal. Step 2. Vote at Citrus Cup.Proposal 1. Any moneys spent over $200, other than horse show expenses, need to be appoved by three members of the board. Discussion followed. Proposal 2. Add Dixie Cup to high pointsProposal 3. Add a Sunshine Award. Becca Watters will keep track of the points for the Sunshine Award.New BusinessRequest was made for FMHA T-shirts that can be worn in OKC for the GNWCMHS. Glen Winograd was going to look into it.

New board members were introduced. Tom welcomed Valerie Siemer, Karen Gardner, Alicia Davis, and Glen Winograd to the board.
