We’ve recently read and heard about the number of Hondurans coming to the United States. Join us for another perspective to learn about Honduran women who are making great strides to improve the lives of their families and villages through the benefits of micro-financing. The HonduranNGO, Adelante, with financial support ofWomen’s Empowerment, offers low interest microwomen to open their own, typically homesuch as snack or tortilla shops or clothing be amazed what these women accomplish with the smallest of loans as seed money.
Carmen Zuñiga Dunlap, Ph.D. of Honduran heritage, recently made site visits of Adelantebusinesses and homes (as well as a family visitTegucigalpa, the country’s capital), and, drawing from her experiences, will share insights into the lives of Honduran women across the socio-economic spectrum.
