Update Winter/Spring 2019 come and see what kids are learning Students are preparing to show off all they have done this year at the Micah House Inaugural Fundraiser, Meet Me At the Mansion. Join us for a chance to mingle with friends as you enjoy appetizers and specialty drinks created by our students. Cheer on the Micah House kids as they participate in cooking demos throughout the evening with Redlands’ own, Chef Jae. Tickets availlible online. From Left: Students create “About Me” art for the event; students show off some of their favorite things about Micah House; gardens and bikes. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math enhancements are in full swing at Micah House. A gift of STEM boxes from a local community member started the program as students worked during brain-time to create and learn how to put math into action. Next, a volunteer created re-usable STEM boxes for Micah House that students can work with every week. Mr. Tim, a faithful volunteer, started weekly hands on projects encouraging kids to apply what they learn in school to real life and sparking new interests and creativity. If you have a project to share we would love to have you. Creative learning helps students in all areas. A generous grant from the Redands Art Association provided for a mural at the Oxford Street location. The neighborhood and Micah House students were asked to contribute ideas for the mural and a garden theme was selected. Local artist, Shirlee Fisher, designed the mural and students helped paint it. The final project reflects the colors of the surrounding buildings and the heart of Micah House to see students grow everyday.
