SCM was started back in 1958 and from the beginning, everyone was asked to treat our customers and fellow employees as if they were family. It sounds simple, but our solution has worked over the years.

We have seen our customers continue to bring their work to us year after year. We have also seen employees working here 30 years, 40 years, or longer!!

ONE COMMUNITY WELLNESS PROGRAM

New Year’s Resolutions require more than just making a pledge. It requires commitment, effort, dedication and a little help. You can get the help you need from the One Community Wellness

Did you know that if you have an accident or incident during your workday, you MUST report it to your immediate supervisor? All employees MUST answer the “attestation” question when they clock out for the day. No matter how small the incident or accident, if you noticed that it happened, then you MUST report it.

Report it when you clock out, then ask your supervisor for an incident/accident report to complete the reporting process. If you have any questions, contact JEFF LAMM, Safety Manager, 828-253-6421 x4136.

Program. If you have not registered, you can register by going to www.onecommunity.com.

Click “sign-up” and enter the password SCM2018.

This program has a variety of resources and challenges to help make you successful with that new year’s resolution. These resources range from financial, physical, mental, informational, etc. You name it, it’s at your fingertips. You can even access this program from your cellphone or any home computer. Give it a try! Besides, participating makes you eligible for cash prizes!

Paying Tribute: James Pressley Kerr, Jr.In November, we lost one of our beloved; Senior Manager, Kerr Concrete - JAMES KERR. While the SCM and Kerr employees will miss James’ physical presence at the Hickory location, his legacy will live on and the spirit of togetherness and his can-do attitude will be ever present. The SCM and Kerr family employees will continue in our efforts to make this company one in which James can look down on and be proud.
