Locally manufactured vehicles including Ford Falcon & Territory models as early as BF Series II as an option and standard in all FG Falcons. Originally a lifetime oil fill but since revised to as low as an 80,000 km service interval by some manufacturers especially where the vehicle is driven in a spirited manner or engaged in heavy towing. CoolDrive Auto Parts has the ZF products in stock to complete a routine service on these complex automatic transmissions. Models include 6HP26 for rear wheel drive vehicles (Including Falcon & Territory) and 6HP26A for all wheel drive vehicles. 6HP19 is fitted to various BMW, Audi & some VAG models. ZF Lifeguard 6: The only transmission fluid approved by ZF for use in its 6 speed 6HP transmissions. Dry fill capacity depending on the model is usually 9 to 10 litres with a service fill requiring at least 4.5 litres. New Product BulletinCoolDrive have also introduced a range of plastic pans that incorporate the filter to suit and replace the original 6HP19 & 6HP26 pans found on many vehicles.
This product often deforms in service and can cause leakage of fluid which in turn can lead to intermittent communication problems between the ECU and Mechatronic unit resulting in issues including limp home modes, flares and hard shifting. When completing a routine service it is advisable to change the lubricant, plastic pan and data connector to ensure trouble free transmission operation.
