Webcasting Setup The setup of a Studio webcast has been streamlined to make the process extremely simple and

intuitive. INXPO worked directly with a 3rd party UI/UX agency to ensure we were following the

latest trends and principles in product design. Below you will find several examples of the

enhanced sections of the webcast setup.

The Setup interface leverages a new design system that will be consistent across all INXPO

products (Online Events and Video Portals) over time. The design system gives our products a

foundation to build from. The goal of the design system is not only to make the product

intuitive and as fluid as possible but as a reference point and a resource when enhancing and

maintaining the product. The new interface provides a guided path from the initial creation of

the webcast to the end, where you customize your webcast layout.

Users Within the Users section of the setup, administrators will now be able to access the below features that previously were administered independently. By combining all these features into one section, the management of users is streamlined into a centralized location.

- Change Password - Login Activity - Register the User - Boot the User (if logged in) - Delete the User

Presenter Console

With Studio’s newly designed presenter console, we have grouped the features and controls to provide an intuitive flow that allows a staffer to easily manage and deliver the webcast while minimizing the number of clicks.

Console Controls

For Studio, we moved away from putting all the clickable icons on a top toolbar and have placed them along the left and right of the console. All the setup and administrative tools have been moved along the left-hand side as shown below. The engineering tools like “Start/End, Slide Controls, Screen Share, Staff List, Staff Chat, Adding Sources” are conveniently located along the right-hand side.

Broadcast Tools

One of the goals in designing and building the console was to give the engineer(s) the option to produce a powerful, studio-style broadcast without the need of third party video tools such as a Tricaster. With Studio, engineers have the controls to use picture in picture to create conversational style broadcasts by combining multiple sources (webcam, slides, telephony, VCU, screen share, encoder feeds, pre-recorded video) into in a single stream as shown below with multiple speakers.

Additional broadcast tools such as graphic compositing/lower thirds, advanced individual audio controls (high pass, low pass), social streaming (Facebook Live, YouTube) will be part of presenter console in a future release.

Webcast Health Monitoring The most important aspect of a webcast is to ensure your speakers and audience have a good experience while presenting and viewing the webcast. Studio will provide the necessary tools so your engineers can properly monitor the connection status of your speakers and audience. When a speaker source is connected to the console, a status indicator will be displayed next to a preview of their video. This indictor will display a color that signifies the strength of their audio and video connection, providing staffers with a real-time view into the health of the speaker’s connection.

Additionally, if a speaker is having issues and does not have the connection bandwidth to send through a feed at the bitrate configured for the webcast, the engineers can configure the frame size that a specific webcam source can send. Also, if a speaker on webcam is experiencing frequent picture loss and freezing, a hard limit can be set on the video bitrate for a specific webcam source to improve the stream stability for that webcam source.

While the monitoring of a speaker’s connection is extremely important, being able to monitor and report on the connection status of your audience is equally as valuable. With Studio’s Producer Tool (targeted for the June 2017 release), engineers will be able to view the status of all audience members connected to the webcast. The Producer Tool will display a high-level summary of the audience connections along with drill downs that will display the list of audience members and their connection status. Below you will find a mockup of monitoring tool.
