Dear Friends,

On behalf of all of our American Culinary Federation—New Orleans members, I want to welcome you to the 2014 Best Chefs of Louisiana event and thank you for your very generous support. We are proud to honor the 29 chefs who are here with us tonight. Together, they bring a level of culinary expertise that both continues our state’s extraordinary tradition of great food and embraces newapproaches to enhance our Louisiana cuisine.

While we hope you enjoy an evening of great entertainment and fabulous food, we also want you to know that your kind donation will support two very impor-tant projects in our community. First, your contribution to tonight’s event will support a culinary scholarship program to help train the next generation of Best Chefs of Louisiana. We believe that this is of critical importance to maintaining our tradition of preparing America’s finest cuisine.

Your support of tonight’s event will also benefit Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Transport helicopter, which carries gravely ill and seriously injured children from throughout Louisiana to the hospital for the life-saving care that it offers. The hospital’s transport team goes out to any location in Louisiana to pick up a child in need and does so without regard for the family’s ability to pay. Your kind sup-port helps defray the $100,000 per month cost of maintaining this service.

Finally, I want to thank you for joining us tonight as we celebrate Louisiana’s tradition of great food and recognize the very talented people whose wonderful cuisine continues that tradition. Sincerely,

Chef Ray DerderianPresident, American Culinary Federation — New Orleans
