How did you use new media technologies in the

construction and research, planning and evaluation

stages?

WEBSITES I USEDWe watched the ‘perfect scary movie’ documentary on channel 4 on demand (online) as part of initial research.

I frequently used Google search engine as a source for various different information; such as my research on the Blair Witch Project marketing strategies for example.

I was constantly on YouTube, looking at current horror movie trailers, analysing them, picking out what made them effective etc. And then eventually used YouTube to share my own trailer.

I would occasionally go on to Wikipedia, to back up any ideas/information with the facts, so my information was always from a known, well used source.

I found myself on various different chat rooms/discussion pages, where werewolves are the topic/subject matter, so I could gain vital information regarding the consumer and find information which could aid in storyline development.

I used SlideShare as a presentation tool. As it added another new, innotive way to share my documents, quick and easily.

I used Photoshop and imovie on a apple Mac, to construct my products (trailer, poster, magazine cover)

I used Photo booth on the apple Mac also, to record some direct, peer feedback.

Facebook was used as a useful communication tool between me and my group members, when planning days we could film etc.

We used Google maps we looking at/planning possible filming locations.

I used Wordpress.com to publish all my work on to, as I was blogging all my research all the way up until my evaluation. Although this site was quite problematic, as sometimes the blog posts I previously wrote, would erase or images I had uploaded would not load.

I used Screencast-o-Matic as my audio/visual tool to record part of my evaluation, for presentation purposes, as this seemed a more interesting way. It was easy to function and I will probably use it again in the future!
