Year-round Uses of Moisture Data
There are year-round uses for moisture information
Paint Spraying – helps predict drying time
Weed Control – some chemicals can only be sprayed at certain levels
Chip Sealing
Surface Patrol HD gives the moisture reading exactly
where you are, not at an airport or RWIS site 20-50
miles away

Transportation Pollution
No matter where we live we are
impacted by the pollution we produce.
Estimate of over 35 million people live within 100 meters of a major transportation system,
including 4+ lane highways
The transportation system is one we must
have because it moves us and our goods
and services around the world.
Our “system” has some major side effects:
Leading producer of Carbon Monoxide
Leading producer of Nitrogen Dioxide
Leading cause of surface level Ozone
Leading cause of Particulate Matter (PM10)

Why Are We Concerned?
Living near major roadways has been associated
with numerous adverse health effects
Cardio-respiratory effects (e.g., asthma, bronchitis)
Adverse birth outcomes/developmental effects
Premature mortality
Cardiovascular effects
Childhood cancer

AQM 60 Air Quality Station
AQM 60 Air Quality Stations are designed for long-term
monitoring of ambient air quality in a flexible, cost-effective and compact package.
The AQM 60 utilizes Aeroqual Analytic GSS and other sensors to measure a wide range of air quality
parameters including O3, NO2, CO, SO2, CO2, VOC, and particle mass (PM10 or PM2.5).
Other environmental sensors, such as noise, can be
integrated.

Why QTT Air Pollution Monitoring?
Low cost way to provide air quality information exactly
where you want to measure
Integration with RWIS, traffic, or HAR systems will
increase your return on investment
Weather data and air quality provides year-round usage of
stations
Integration with HAR can provide a way to advise the
community of unhealthy levels
Monitoring traffic and air quality can assist in correlation
relationship and solutions
Data is your own – EPA data is available to the public
Become a steward of the environment for your state, county, or community
