Our Summer 2018 Spin Club program is designed specifically for youth that have access to a horse. Youth can either own their own horse, lease/ borrow a horse, or share a horse with another 4H member. Summer sessions will be focused on preparing youth to succeed in their chosen Forest County Fair classes, including gymkhana, western pleasure, halter, and show- manship classes. To teach these skills, the Spin Club will participate in trail riding, gaming, clinics, and drill team maneuvers. Please let us know if you do not have access to a horse and are interested in participating in the program. We may be able to match you to someone who does. WHO: Youth entering 3rd—12th grades WHEN: June—September 2018 WHERE: Various Locations COST: $10.00 per youth (payable at the 1st meeting) Space is limited and registration is required Register online beginning May 21st at www.forest.uwex.edu Register by phone by calling Michelle at 715-478-7797 Registration closes June 1st or when class meets capacity MEETING DATES & TIMES Sunday, June 10 11:00 AM Forest County Fairgrounds Mandatory aendance is required for all members planning to parcipate in the 4H Horse and Pony Summer Program. Saturday, June 23 12:00 PM Halls Creek Trailhead 4Hers will join with the Silver Dollar Saddle Club in a ride of the Halls Creek Trail System in Florence County. Saturday , June 30 10:30 AM Forest County Fairgrounds Crandon 4th of July Parade. 4Hers and their horses will meet at the fairgrounds at 10:30 to prepare to ride in the parade. Any 4Her planning to ride in the parade will need to have an adult walking with them for ground support. There will be a fun acvity planned for aſter the parade. Sunday, July 22 12:00 PM Forest County Fairgrounds Drill team maneuvers Saturday, August 11 12:00 PM Forest County Fairgrounds SDSC Trail Ride in the Chequamegon Naonal Forest. Sunday , August 19 11:00 AM Forest County Fairgrounds Pracce for the fair, we will work on your specific classes as well as pracce for the parade of breeds. September 79th To be determined Forest County Fairgrounds Forest County Fair. Horse that are to be shown as exhibits need to be there by Friday evening thru Sunday. Horses will be judged Saturday morning. Horse fun show to be held Saturday (not Sunday) aſternoon.
