New Investment Patterns in Canada

• New technologies continue their penetration of the economy and demonstrate new growth as they are adopted by traditional sectors seeking to modernize their business processes.

• A structural shift is occurring in the make-up of Canada’s international partners, which is visible in both export and investment patterns.

These new realities are redefining the economic and industrial structure of Canada, in both urban centres and outlying regions.

A New Positioning for Alberta To Benefit From The Current Reshaping of The Global Economy

Despite an unprecedented drop in business investment, some sectors keep on thriving and investing.

Indeed, analysis of business investment patterns reveals new investment and growth opportunities. Sustainable development brings with it substantial constraints, but also opportunities for wealth creation. Under what conditions can Canada benefit from it?

Tomorrow’s realities are already in the making.

Revisiting Investment Targeting

“Our economy’s industrial structure is undergoing fundamental changes. At the same time as traditional assembly-line activities are being moved abroad, advanced industrial manufacture and design are beginning to gain critical mass.

Tomorrow’s investors are preparing for emerging business opportunities that are as yet little known. These investors may include SMB’s, but they also include new divisions of large, long-established companies, wrongly termed ‘traditional’.”
