How most Indian temples are madeMost Indian temples are made of either wood or marble. They are always carved by hand so sometimes it take 40 years to carve. Every where you look you won’t find a place like the other. Indian temples are built with the finest care. Most major temples will have Indian gods made of solid gold.

Swaminarayan SaintsOne form of Hinduism is Swaminarayan. They believe that lord swaminarayan reincarnates into another form of himself and comes down to earth to visit the people. One major thing is how the pastor/saint lives. The Saint can’t look at a female once he becomes one otherwise it’s a sin and he must starve himself.They don’t eat meat or drink liquor because it’s a sin.

Indians are Polytheistic. They believe in more then one God but at the same time they are monotheistic. This is because they believe that every god is linked as a universal soul and as one and only one god.

JainismJains believe that the universe is infinite and was not created by a deity. Jains believe in non-injury to all forms of life, they believe that every kind of thing has a soul.

IslamThe Arabic word Islam literally means both "surrender" and "peace". Surrender to the will of God and the peace that is entailed in that surrender. Islam is a monotheistic religion and believe that to search for God through images is a sin.Sikhism Sikhism was started in Punjab by Guru Nanak in the late 15th century. Followers of this religion are known as the Sikhs. Hinduism is just a belief but there are different forms kind of like Lutheran and Catholic are still part of Christianity.

One guy you probably have heard of is Jay Sean. His real name is Kamalijit Singh Jhooti He is a British Singer who wrote the song Down which topped Billboard Hot 100, that made him the first solo artist of Asian origin and UK urban act to top the Hot 100.

Auto rickshawsAn auto rickshaw (auto or rickshaw or tempo in popular parlance) is a three wheeler vehicle for hire. They typically have no doors or seatbelts. They’re safe (99.9 percent of the time).

In India the most popular mode of personal transportation is a two wheeler. They are the motorcycles or the scooters like the Italian Vespa. There are about 2 million motorcycles in India.

In India places can be really crowded. So they let you ride on tops of the trains and buses. It’s a real rush of air and scare when your going 45 miles an hour on a bus with 6 inch railings.

The Indian government owns it’s own airlines. There is Air India for international flights and Indian Airlines for domestic flights. The airlines make 10.5 billions American dollars a year. The governmental airlines are the largest in the country.

Most famous Indian sport is cricket. Many people party if in a cricket game India beats Pakistan. Some parties go on for days.

In 2007, India killed Pakistan in the world cup! Out of a 7 day game, Indian won on day 5! Pakistan won on day 4.

Also there is football (soccer) which most Indians are popular with even today.

There are also traveling amusement parks that go around.

People love going to disco clubs, as shown in the clip.

Taj Mahal stands in the city of Agra, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the Yamuna River. It was built in the memory of the beautiful Arjumand Bano Begum, who was married at 21 to Prince Khurram and stayed loyally by his side through good times and bad.When she died the prince ordered resources from every where to have this built. He cut of the workers hand in the end so nothing this beautiful can be built ever again.

One holiday is Diwali. It’s celebrated because Lord Ram killed all the demons

It’s a holiday for 9 days for god’s birthday. It has non stop dancing and a god in the middle.

Most Indian safety standards are different than here.

• There when your in a car you don’t have to wear a seat belt or be in a booster seat. That because there is lots of traffic there.

•Plus you can drive if your good enough

• If your tall enough, then you can get into a club without I.D.

The Indian police force isn’t that forced. Like such as if you were speeding and got pulled over, you could easily bribe the officer with 50 rupees and get away with it instead of paying 189 rupees to the government.

• India has the 4th largest army in the world and the 6th largest navy. So you don’t want to go to war with these guys!

• To keep the crime low, they hang people in front of the public

The schools in India are very different from the school in America. If you don’t do your work You will get hit with a ruler. Also you get to eat out side, and also your parents get to come to your school and have lunch with you. If you don’t have your books you will get hit with a stick. Schools in India are very strict, and they are not at all like the schools in America.

EDUCATION IS STRESSED!In India, public school is not the best! Private schools are. They charge you on your knowledge in college. If you get better than 90% then you only pay the regular fee. If you got 89% and get into a reserved seat you pay regular plus an extra 1000000 rupees. You get homework for 4 hours minimum (everyday). Which has to me hand written!

28% of the population with the highest IQ’s is more than the population of North America. We need to do something about it because they are really laughing at people who live in America!

All over India you will find any small villages everywhere you go. Since small villages are far away they will only get electricity for a few hours.. They only get water for 15 minutes and that’s all for the week.

In small villages you will find a natural gas stove. Farmers collect there cow’s dung and put it in a large tank. Once the tanks gets hot and full, it will cause natural gas to be formed. Hoses run from this tank to the stove. You have to take out the dung once it has been done of its purpose. That’s the smelly part! Nasty!

Sewer systems were invented in India by the Indus Valley People. Most of the ancient sewer systems are still used in In India today they have minor changes. They are over 2,000 years old and still work. Most old systems don’t have a cover on top of them.

Shops Most of the Indian shops are out side there are

also many street vendors. Some of the shops are very dirty and unkempt. Most Indian shops also have gates for security at night. During the day they have lockable doors that way poor people don’t enter the shop.

The cow is sacred in India and that’s why Indian people generally don’t eat meat. Also animals get to roam free on the streets and they don’t have animal control. That’s why 75 % of new born puppies in India are run over by a vehicle.

In India people have an arranged marriage. (99%) of time unless groom/bride rebel)Your parents decide who you marry. If you get a divorce later, you will be shunned (lose all your popularity) from the society.The couple go around a fire 7 times to which they agree to accept the 7 aspects of life.

MarriageSteps of Marriage:• Parents find a bride and if you agree then next step• Become engaged• Court marriage papers signed• Wedding Starts: Big Dinner at groom’s house• Wedding party goes from groom’s house to brides city• Groom gets on a horse and people dance till they reach bride’s

house• Marital ceremony starts• Couple goes around fire 7 times for 7 aspects• Big dinner end of day• Reception next day• Dance party at night time• Wedding Over

All this takes about 3 days to happen.

One last thing about PatelsYou have probably seen someone who is Indian who’s last name is Patel.

Are we all related ? No we are not. (most of the time:) People just have the last name Patel because its easier to identify what caste your from and its easier to say.

Indian people who own Dairy Queens/Quiznos / gas stations : Patel comes from the word Paheli which means land manger. This is why a lot of Indian people own things like Subway and Quiznos. They are naturally good business people so they manage things like stores. Examples of Indian run stores: Quiznos in Champaign/Urbana, Subway @ Wal-Mart in Savoy, Taco Bell on Neil , Dairy Queen in Savoy , Bombay Grill , Anpoorna Groceries, Zorba’s ,Mirsung Groceries.
