The American Headache Society® (AHS)
is a professional society of healthcare
providers dedicated to the study and
treatment of headache and face pain.
The Society’s objectives are to promote
the exchange of information and ideas
concerning the causes and treatments
of headache and related painful disorders.
Educating physicians, health professionals
and the public, and encouraging scientific
research are the primary functions of this
organization. AHS activities include an
annual scientific meeting, a fall headache
symposium, and publication of the
journal Headache®.

The provision of quality CME is a primary mission of the American Headache Society®. The Society’s educational objectives are to continue to improve the knowledge, skills, and professional performance of physicians, psychologists, and other health professionals in the care of patients with head, neck, and orofacial pain by:
• Providing a forum for presentation of free scientificcommunication on research and clinical practice.
• Providing educational symposia.
• Improving education in medical schools and residencyprograms.
• Identifying and developing new educational initiatives.
• Supporting educational programs directed to people withhead, neck, and orofacial pain.
• Maintaining strict adherence to ACCME guidelines.
• Developing education activities and tools that are designedand then evaluated for their role in improving the learners’competence, performance, and the overall quality and safetyof the care they give to individuals suffering from head, neck,and orofacial pain.
2019 Educational ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this meeting, attendees should be better able to:
• Explain the current understanding of basic mechanisms ofheadache disorders.
• Identify alterations in homeostasis of the brain and body thatare associated with migraine.
• Recognize emerging therapeutic strategies for the treatmentof headache disorders.
• Apply knowledge based on basic and clinical science ofheadache disorders to effective management of patients.

The hotel is connected via skywalk to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and Jefferson Train Station on the SEPTA Airport Line connecting to the Philadelphia International Airport.

Room reservations will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis until 5:00 pm local hotel time on Thursday, June 16, 2019 or until the block is sold out, whichever comes first. Reservation requests received after the cut-off date noted above will be based on availability at the hotel’s prevailing rate. All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card. Hotel will not hold any reservation unless secured by one of the above methods.

The American Headache Society® takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity.
The American Headache Society® designates AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ for the medical education activity, the 61st Annual Scientific Meeting, for a maximum of 23.25 credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
