New District Guide
Gateway District
Dear Pastor:I am delighted and privileged to serve you as district supervisor. I am embracing this opportunity as a stewardship of the highest order and commit myself to serving you with all my heart and soul. Thank you for whatever trust you extend to me, especially during this first year, as I work to get to know you and your churches.
I accepted this new assignment a few months back with some feelings of ambivalence. It is difficult to relinquish the church I have served for 20 years and take on a role I know is way over my head. However, as my family and I have prayed and worked through the last few weeks of transition, we have experienced a tremendous release and confirmation that God is blessing our path.
In January, divisional superintendents and I gathered from all five of our respective states to talk and pray about what the Lord was saying to us about our new district. All of us felt strongly about the name Gateway˝ and the prophetic direction it confirms to us.
We are a gateway˝ region, not just because we are the geographical gateway to the West, but also because we resonate with the message of Isaiah 62:10: Open your gates! Repair the road to the city and clear it of stones; raise a banner to help the nations find their way (CEV).
Our God-given assignment is to win cities, suburbs and rural towns to Christ through vibrant and joyful churches; moreover, we are to be a gateway to the nations of the world, sending teams and missionaries to every corner of the globe. There is no doubt in my mind we are already committed to this task. The challenge before us is to accomplish these objectives with a renewed sense of unity, purposefulness and passion.
I am very excited to announce that we will meet to celebrate our new district at our fall conference, October 5-7 in the great gateway city of St. Louis. Wayne Cordeiro and Ricky Temple will be there to help us unite our hearts around our common goal of reaching people for Jesus and strengthening our bonds with one another.

Wide open! This simple, yet profound statement taken from Revelation 3:8, expresses the theme of Connection, our 2009 Foursquare convention. It also reflects our anticipation of God’s purposes for The Foursquare Church as we boldly follow Him into a new season of fruitful ministry worldwide.
The familial relationship in The Foursquare Church and the bond of trust we share have brought us to an exciting place in our church’s history. We are officially launching 14 new districts that are led by newly appointed supervisors who will lead our ministers and ministries into the Lord’s harvest.
As you read the information in this brochure relating to the launch of your new district, please do so with great care and intercession. Pray for your newly installed district supervisor and for the other district supervisors who will lead our ministers and ministries into the Lord’s harvest.
There is no finer hour to serve the Lord in the Foursquare family than today. As never before our collective commitment is to partner toward a common mission of reaching, resourcing and releasing leaders to God’s full potential. As we set our hearts to mobilize the next generation and equip emerging leaders for the work of the ministry, we know you sense the passion of God to do everything possible so these leaders mature into effective and successful ministers of the Gospel.
Our continued prayer is that the launch of your new district will bring about health and vitality to your region, your community and to your local assembly of believers.
