SOLOMON1 KINGS 3:4-5

4 Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for

that was the great high place: Solomon offered

a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared

to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” 

BURNT OFFERING

In addition to this continual burnt offering, they were to bring burnt

offering and present them to the Lord as an

atonement for their sins.(Leviticus 1:1-17)

The 1st recorded act of worship after the fall of man was the

giving of an offering unto God. From the beginning of God’s

dealing with man, burnt offering, freewill

offerings, 1st fruits and tithes were major methods for man to enter into

a relationship with

God and worship him.

After the fall, God din not cut man off altogether. Man deserved

death, instead he received God’s grace and mercy.

Because of his great love for mankind, God

established a way for a man to be restored to

fellowship with Him through sacrifices and

offerings.

All the offerings were sacred and holy to God because they

pointed to Christ the one perfect sacrifice who would

redeem men from their

sins.

The offering included confession of sin, penalty of sin,

and a profession of faith in looking forward to the one

great sacrificial offering… the lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world.

And I will put enmity        between you and the woman, 

       and between your offspring  and hers; 

       he will crush  your head,        and you will strike his heel."

Then Moses took the blood and sprinkled it

on the people. He said,

"This is the blood that puts the covenant

into effect. The LORD has made this

covenant with you in keeping with all of

these words."

1. God will assign an angel to you: “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and

to bring you into the place which I have prepared.” (verse 20); and “ For My Angel will go

before you.” (verse 23)

2. God will be an enemy to your enemies:“But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.” (verse 22)

3. God will give you prosperity: “So you shall serve the Lord your God,

For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.” (verse 31); and what the enemy stole will be returned to you and protected by God from being overtaken: “I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beast of the field become too numerous for you.” (verse 29)

I CORINTHIANS 11:23-2923 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He

was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body

which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after

supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 

26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.   

27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself,

and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and

drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

HEBREWS 10:1-10

1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. 2 For

then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there

is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

HEBREWS 10:1-105 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: 

      “ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,      But a body You have prepared for Me.

       6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin      You had no pleasure.

       7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—      In the volume of the book it is written of Me—

      To do Your will, O God.’”    8 Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt

offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them ” (which are offered according to the

law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the

second. 10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

DAVIDI CHRONICLES 29:21

 And they made sacrifices to the LORD and offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the next day: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand

lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.

The next day they brought a thousand young bulls, a thousand rams and a thousand lambs as burnt offerings to the Lord; they also offered drink offerings and many other sacrifices on behalf of all Israel.

SOLOMON2 CHRONICLES 5:6

King Solomon and the others sacrificed sheep and oxen before the ark in such

numbers that no one tried to keep count.

SOLOMON2 CHRONICLES 7:1-5

As Solomon finished praying fire flashed down from heaven and burned up the sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the temple, so that the priests could not enter. All the people had been watching and now they fell flat on the pavement, and worshipped and thanked the Lord.

“How good he is” they exclaimed “He is always so loving and kind. “

4,5- then the king and all the people dedicated the Temple by sacrificing burnt offerings to the Lord. King Solomon’s contribution for this purpose was 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep.

HEZEKIAH2 CHRONICLES 30:24

King Hezekiah gave the people 1,000 young bulls for offerings and 7,000 sheep; and the princess donated 1,000 young bulls and 10,000 sheep.

26- For Jerusalem hadn’t seen a celebration like this one since the days of King David’s son Solomon.

27-Then the priests and levites stood and blessed the people and the Lord heard their prayers from his holy temple in heaven.
