SOLOMON1 KINGS 3:4-5

4 Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for

that was the great high place: Solomon offered

a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared

to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”

BURNT OFFERING

In addition to this continual burnt offering, they were to bring burnt

offering and present them to the Lord as an

atonement for their sins.(Leviticus 1:1-17)

Page 4: New Dimension of

The 1st recorded act of worship after the fall of man was the

giving of an offering unto God. From the beginning of God’s

dealing with man, burnt offering, freewill

offerings, 1st fruits and tithes were major methods for man to enter into

a relationship with

God and worship him.

Page 5: New Dimension of

After the fall, God din not cut man off altogether. Man deserved

death, instead he received God’s grace and mercy.

Page 6: New Dimension of

Because of his great love for mankind, God

established a way for a man to be restored to

fellowship with Him through sacrifices and

offerings.

Page 7: New Dimension of

All the offerings were sacred and holy to God because they

pointed to Christ the one perfect sacrifice who would

redeem men from their

sins.

Page 8: New Dimension of

The offering included confession of sin, penalty of sin,

and a profession of faith in looking forward to the one

great sacrificial offering… the lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world.

ABELGenesis 4:3-5

3And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the

fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the

fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel

and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his

offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his

countenance fell.

JOBJob 1:4-5

4And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to

drink with them. 5And it was so, when the days of their

feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the

morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned,

and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

ABRAHAMGenesis 22:11-1411 But the angel of the LORD

called out to him from heaven. He said, "Abraham!

Abraham!" "Here I am," Abraham replied. 12 "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he

said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you have respect for God. You

have not held back from me your son, your only

son." 13 Abraham looked up. There in a bush he saw a ram. It was caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram.

He sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his

son. 14 So Abraham named that place The LORD Will

Provide. To this day people say, "It will be provided on the mountain of the Lord."

Then Moses took the blood and sprinkled it

on the people. He said,

"This is the blood that puts the covenant

into effect. The LORD has made this

covenant with you in keeping with all of

these words."

POINTS TO Christ as the Passover

“Purge out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump,

as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover

is sacrificed for us.”

THE FEAST OF THE FIRST FRUITS

GUIDES US DIRECTLY TO THE Savior

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.

For since by man came death, by man came also resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die,

even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order:

Christ the first fruits; Afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming”

I Corinthians 15:20-23

The Feast of the PentecostSPECIFICALLY SHOWS THAT Jesus sent

the Spirit to bear witness of the Savior during the Pentecost

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a

sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where

they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and

began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:1-4

Word became flesh

The Feast of Tabernacles• SHOWS US THE - Creator’s

plan to send His Son to establish fellowship with us

as well as to establish His authority, ownership and

reign

“And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as

of the only begotten of the Father)

full of grace and truth.”John 1:14

LUKE 22:19

And He took bread, gave thanks and

broke it, and gave it to them,

saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of

Me.”

Page 29: New Dimension of

ROMANS 6:1-221 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in

sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in

it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized

into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as

Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in

newness of life.5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall

be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified

with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of

sin.

Page 30: New Dimension of

ROMANS 6:1-227 For he who has died has been freed from

sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that

Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over

Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ

Jesus our Lord. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to

God. 14For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Page 31: New Dimension of

ROMANS 6:1-2215 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law

but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that

one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet

you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin,

you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For

just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more

lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of

those things is death. 22But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit

to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

Page 32: New Dimension of

I CORINTHIANS 11:23-2923 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He

was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body

which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after

supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself,

and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and

drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

HEBREWS 10:1-10

1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. 2 For

then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there

is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Page 34: New Dimension of

HEBREWS 10:1-105 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

“ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,      But a body You have prepared for Me.

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin      You had no pleasure.

7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—      In the volume of the book it is written of Me—

To do Your will, O God.’”    8 Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt

offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them ” (which are offered according to the

law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the

second. 10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

SOLOMON2 CHRONICLES 5:6

King Solomon and the others sacrificed sheep and oxen before the ark in such

numbers that no one tried to keep count.

Page 41: New Dimension of

SOLOMON2 CHRONICLES 7:1-5

As Solomon finished praying fire flashed down from heaven and burned up the sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the temple, so that the priests could not enter. All the people had been watching and now they fell flat on the pavement, and worshipped and thanked the Lord.

“How good he is” they exclaimed “He is always so loving and kind. “

4,5- then the king and all the people dedicated the Temple by sacrificing burnt offerings to the Lord. King Solomon’s contribution for this purpose was 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep.

Page 42: New Dimension of

HEZEKIAH2 CHRONICLES 30:24

King Hezekiah gave the people 1,000 young bulls for offerings and 7,000 sheep; and the princess donated 1,000 young bulls and 10,000 sheep.

26- For Jerusalem hadn’t seen a celebration like this one since the days of King David’s son Solomon.

27-Then the priests and levites stood and blessed the people and the Lord heard their prayers from his holy temple in heaven.
