Welcome to the 7th annual Denbie Ranch and Guests Bull Sale.

As I am writing this the temperature outside is a balmy –36 degree Celsius and just a couple weeks ago

when we clipped the bulls it was +5 degree Celsius. You gotta love Manitoba winters!! This sentiment kind of

sums up the past year here in the parkland. Some areas had extremely wet conditions, some were just right

and a lot were very dry!

But you know what we will persevere and carry on! Business as usual, just like all of you, our great cus-

tomers and friends who continue to support our programs. Even the prices at the auction mart were pretty

darn good this fall, weaning weights were down pretty much across the board but the price per pound has re-

ally maintained at a solid price level, and who would’ve thought bred cows and heifers would hit the prices

they did.

The bull pens at Denbie Ranch, MyhreLand and Cattle and Bar J are ready to go with the same great

yearlings Charolais, coming two year old Charolais, Red angus and hybrid bulls you have come to appreciate

over the past years, we are all excited about this years line up, they are a great selection of herd bull and heif-

er bull prospects. Bulls that have been brought along slowly, developed mostly on grass so they will go out

and work and last a long time in your herds!

All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. All monies are in Canadian Funds. All animals remain property of Denbie Ranch until paid in full. Announcements All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to such disclo-sures. Guarantee The cattle will be sold under the terms of the Stand-ard Breeding Guarantee of the Canadian Angus and Charo-lais Associations. All animals in the sale have met all neces-sary health requirements. If your bull fails to be a satisfacto-ry breeder we will replace him with a bull of equal value or give you your money back. and again for Elder Charolais. Day Breaker is no exception to the family. As a calf we couldn’t take our eyes off him. He is thick, deep bodied, clean sheathed,

and very sound. Day Breaker has a huge square hip with great muscle expression, an awesome hair coat, big testicles and a great disposition. He has made a

great positive impact on the Bar J program. With his first calf crop as yearlings and his second on the ground now, he has done everything we could have hoped

Bar J Charolais. Here at Bar J our selection has

been based entirely upon what it takes to top the market with Charolais sired calves. The sales ring is our show ring and that is where we strive to excel, the group of Charolais yearlings we are offering in this sale are the product of a small select group of cows Jack and Justin bred to do just that.

When the main cowherd was dispersed in 2009, Jack and Justin retained the foundation cows over 10 years of age to carry on the Bar J herd. From these females we have built a family of Charolais that are easy maintenance yet still pack the performance and growth we are looking for come sale day.

Red Angus Two Year Old Bulls

This summer we had some pretty challenging pasture conditions in some areas. The rains were sporadic, they were timely in one area and non existent a few miles over. These two year old's were on really good tame pasture that seemed too catch those timely rains, they came off pasture in fantastic condition which made the transition to the feedlot really great.

Our philosophy in developing these older bulls too “Not” push them. This group of coming two year old bulls were born in April-May , just 60-90 days ahead of the long yearlings and then weaned in late November. They received “No” creep feed while on their mother! They are lightly back-grounded and then put out on good tame pasture so they can slowly develop and mature.

These big bulls are then brought back in mid October and hand fed an oats and corn ration along with good grass hay. We choose to hand feed on purpose to make them as quiet as possible, we all have families that help out so having unruly animals around is not acceptable. When feeding these guys I am literally pushing them out of my way they are that quiet! These bulls are athletic, sound, hard muscled and even though they are in really good condition the one thing you will “Not” find on these guys is a couple hundred pounds of excess fat that’s gonna melt off when you turn them out! They are in their work clothes and ready to go to work!

He is also one of the best mannered bulls, always following me around the pen looking for a little bit of attention! Also has longevity built in coming out of a twelve year old cow!!

The only A.I. bull in the sale for us today. We liked him enough to use him on a small group of heifers for our fall calving program. Even though he was out working he still maintained great body condition. A real stylish bull who will really be a great heifer bull for anyone's program!

42E is another great heifer bull prospect Full Throttle son. Long as a freight train with that classic smooth head and body which will give you some peace of mind if you decide to use him on heifers.

A great two way bull here! Smooth enough to use on heifers but still has enough punch to put on cows also! He will keep your birth weights moderate and add some performance to your program.

A stout bull on a smaller frame. One of my favourite cow families. Unfortu-nately we lost this cow to an injury on pasture!

The low birth weights and short gestation of these Crush calves make them great calving ease bulls; especially when combined with Full Throttle on the dams side! Definitely heifer friendly!

418E is definitely round, sound and low to the ground! By far the smallest frame of all these red two year old’s, so if you have any taller framed heifers and cows that you want to knock the legs off 418E is your guy! Deep dark red and loves to stop and get scratched when coming out of the pen for his grain.

A really nice combination of calving ease and performance. If your looking to keep birth weights moderate and add some punch to your program 424E will really work for you.

This past summer these Fall Born Bulls had a little tougher pasture conditions than previ-ous years. It was a dry summer where they were, so there summer grass gains were a little lower than usual. But once we got them home and in the lot they really took off and had great gains. An average of 3.8 lbs/day is really great! So at breeding time they will be 20-22 months of age and are big enough to go out and breed even the biggest cows out here and still maintain their condition. They have been brought along slowly while developing mostly on grass and will last a long time in your herd!

Welcome fellow cattlemen to the 7TH Denbie Ranch and Guests Bull Sale. Thank you to all of our bidders and buyers in our last 6 sales. It is very rewarding to

visit with customers and find that the bulls we’ve raised have gone out and worked well, meeting the expectations of their new owners. Cattle markets continue to be

strong and the demand for Charolais cross calves is great. Thanks again to Denis and Debbie for inviting us to consign to their sale. They have been wonderful to work

with and we look forward to continuing this great relationship.

Our purebred cows run on a similar program to our commercial cows for 10 months of the year, only being separated for the grazing season. They need to work

for us rather than the other way around. Again this year the purebred herd stayed close to home and I ran them through a fairly intense planned grazing system,

moving them every 5-7 days. Our cow herd is on a complete herd health program including the Zoetis SelectVac line. The herd also receives a balanced mineral pro-

gram.

This year we are happy to be able to bring you a diverse set of bulls sired by Silver Buckle, Appraiser, Colonel and Navigator. CSS Sir Navigator 20Y continues

to work well for us adding hair, frame and performance to our herd. His daughters are consistently good mothers with plenty of milk. Navigator also passes on a nice

big hoof.

The bulls have been carefully brought up to ensure structural soundness and longevity. They are not ‘left over’ two year old’s, rather they have been slowly devel-

oped for sale as long yearlings. We are offering to take the bulls back home and feed them until April 1st at which time they must be delivered before we start

calving. This is at no cost to the buyer. After April 1st we will charge a fee for keeping the bulls. All bulls returning to our yard must be insured. The bulls have all

passed a semen test but it is recommended that the new owner retest the bulls if they are not going to work for a few months. Our bulls are not overfed and will go

out to work and still be recognizable when they done.

Welcome fellow cattlemen to the 7TH Denbie Ranch and Guests Bull Sale. Thank you to all of our bidders and buyers in our last 6 sales. It is very rewarding to

visit with customers and find that the bulls we’ve raised have gone out and worked well, meeting the expectations of their new owners. Cattle markets continue to be

strong and the demand for Charolais cross calves is great. Thanks again to Denis and Debbie for inviting us to consign to their sale. They have been wonderful to work

with and we look forward to continuing this great relationship.

Our purebred cows run on a similar program to our commercial cows for 10 months of the year, only being separated for the grazing season. They need to work

for us rather than the other way around. Again this year the purebred herd stayed close to home and I ran them through a fairly intense planned grazing system,

moving them every 5-7 days. Our cow herd is on a complete herd health program including the Zoetis SelectVac line. The herd also receives a balanced mineral pro-

gram.

This year we are happy to be able to bring you a diverse set of bulls sired by Silver Buckle, Appraiser, Colonel and Navigator. CSS Sir Navigator 20Y continues

to work well for us adding hair, frame and performance to our herd. His daughters are consistently good mothers with plenty of milk. Navigator also passes on a nice

big hoof.

The bulls have been carefully brought up to ensure structural soundness and longevity. They are not ‘left over’ two year old’s, rather they have been slowly devel-

oped for sale as long yearlings. We are offering to take the bulls back home and feed them until April 1st at which time they must be delivered before we start

calving. This is at no cost to the buyer. After April 1st we will charge a fee for keeping the bulls. All bulls returning to our yard must be insured. The bulls have all

passed a semen test but it is recommended that the new owner retest the bulls if they are not going to work for a few months. Our bulls are not overfed and will go

out to work and still be recognizable when they done.

A big thick rascal here! He is huge hipped deep sided and excellent feet. This guy had an eye infection on pasture and is probably going to be left with a small dot on his one eye which will in no way interfere with his performance.

This past summer these Fall Born Bulls had a little tougher pasture conditions than previ-ous years. It was a dry summer where they were, so there summer grass gains were a little lower than usual. But once we got them home and in the lot they really took off and had great gains. An average of 3.8 lbs/day is really great! So at breeding time they will be 20-22 months of age and are big enough to go out and breed even the biggest cows out here and still maintain their condition. They have been brought along slowly while developing mostly on grass and will last a long time in your herd!

The low birth weights and short gestation of these Crush calves make them great calving ease bulls; especially when combined with Full Throttle on the dams side! Definitely heifer friendly!

418E is definitely round, sound and low to the ground! By far the smallest frame of all these red two year old’s, so if you have any taller framed heifers and cows that you want to knock the legs off 418E is your guy! Deep dark red and loves to stop and get scratched when coming out of the pen for his grain.

A really nice combination of calving ease and performance. If your looking to keep birth weights moderate and add some punch to your program 424E will really work for you.

Red Angus Two Year Old Bulls

This summer we had some pretty challenging pasture conditions in some areas. The rains were sporadic, they were timely in one area and non existent a few miles over. These two year old's were on really good tame pasture that seemed too catch those timely rains, they came off pasture in fantastic condition which made the transition to the feedlot really great.

Our philosophy in developing these older bulls too “Not” push them. This group of coming two year old bulls were born in April-May , just 60-90 days ahead of the long yearlings and then weaned in late November. They received “No” creep feed while on their mother! They are lightly back-grounded and then put out on good tame pasture so they can slowly develop and mature.

These big bulls are then brought back in mid October and hand fed an oats and corn ration along with good grass hay. We choose to hand feed on purpose to make them as quiet as possible, we all have families that help out so having unruly animals around is not acceptable. When feeding these guys I am literally pushing them out of my way they are that quiet! These bulls are athletic, sound, hard muscled and even though they are in really good condition the one thing you will “Not” find on these guys is a couple hundred pounds of excess fat that’s gonna melt off when you turn them out! They are in their work clothes and ready to go to work!

been based entirely upon what it takes to top the market with Charolais sired calves. The sales ring is our show ring and that is where we strive to excel, the group of Charolais yearlings we are offering in this sale are the product of a small select group of cows Jack and Justin bred to do just that.

When the main cowherd was dispersed in 2009, Jack and Justin retained the foundation cows over 10 years of age to carry on the Bar J herd. From these females we have built a family of Charolais that are easy maintenance yet still pack the performance and growth we are looking for come sale day.

and again for Elder Charolais. Day Breaker is no exception to the family. As a calf we couldn’t take our eyes off him. He is thick, deep bodied, clean sheathed,

and very sound. Day Breaker has a huge square hip with great muscle expression, an awesome hair coat, big testicles and a great disposition. He has made a

great positive impact on the Bar J program. With his first calf crop as yearlings and his second on the ground now, he has done everything we could have hoped

Welcome to the 7th annual Denbie Ranch and Guests Bull Sale.

As I am writing this the temperature outside is a balmy –36 degree Celsius and just a couple weeks ago

when we clipped the bulls it was +5 degree Celsius. You gotta love Manitoba winters!! This sentiment kind of

sums up the past year here in the parkland. Some areas had extremely wet conditions, some were just right

and a lot were very dry!

But you know what we will persevere and carry on! Business as usual, just like all of you, our great cus-

tomers and friends who continue to support our programs. Even the prices at the auction mart were pretty

darn good this fall, weaning weights were down pretty much across the board but the price per pound has re-

ally maintained at a solid price level, and who would’ve thought bred cows and heifers would hit the prices

they did.

The bull pens at Denbie Ranch, MyhreLand and Cattle and Bar J are ready to go with the same great

yearlings Charolais, coming two year old Charolais, Red angus and hybrid bulls you have come to appreciate

over the past years, we are all excited about this years line up, they are a great selection of herd bull and heif-

er bull prospects. Bulls that have been brought along slowly, developed mostly on grass so they will go out

and work and last a long time in your herds!

We would like to thank all of you our dedicated buyers and bidders who continue to make these sales a
