A Few Words from the President . . . In this time of great uncertainty my deepest concern is for the well-being of every one of you, your families, and friends. This is also a time for worry and anxiety regarding every individual in this great country of ours. By that, I mean each one of us should be reaching out to our entire social-circle and extended families to determine their needs and well-being.

Going beyond the major concern we all have for the immediate well-being of one another, there are some more mundane happenings and events in the club’s future. Several of you have asked when and where are we going to meet again, and what about all our upcoming events? You will see by the modifications in the Newsletter that we are adapting as we receive guidance from higher.

Higher being state, federal, and Exchange officials. Not the big guy up there. We have been working electronically with the various schools for Youth of the Year and A.C.E. nominees; and each of our three high schools have responded. Additionally, I can tell you we will be retiring flags on the square Memorial Day (exercising the utmost in social-distancing and hand-sanitizers). Your very able Communications Director will be keeping you updated on all our upcoming events as they become more defined.

My dear friends, I wish to leave you with one primary thought, “this virus is for real!” I hear those who say this is just another flu and it will soon pass. Not so, this evil is so contagious and silent in its initial infection that its impact on America will be staggering in comparison to other pandemics. That is precisely why each of us must do our part to ensure the well-being of one another. In the coming days you will receive a phone call, text, or email from me asking how you and yours are doing. I would ask that you do the same for all your family, friends, and loved-ones.

Bob
