CAMP First Year Advising Process

Students are assigned to a counselor/advisor for

the academic year

Students are required to meet mid semester with Professor Contact Forms (PCF)

Students meet on a walk-in basis continuously

throughout the academic year based on

their individual needs

Students meet with their respective

counselor/advisor before selecting courses and create an academic

G.E. plan

CAMP Tutoring Process

If progress level is low, students are referred by counselor/advisor for tutoring services

Based on remedial progress in English and

Math students meet with Peer-Mentors on a

weekly basis for a minimum of 30 min

each meeting

Peer-Mentors work individually with

students and create customized Individual

Learning Plans (ILP) based on their needs

Students are also required to complete a

minimum of 5 study hours per week in the

Study Center.

Peer-Mentors monitor study hours and

document how many are completed per

student every week.

Retention Department Academic Yearly Calendar

JuneComplete yearly report. Contact incoming CAMP

students and secure financial aid . Follow up

with disqualified and academic probation

students.

JulyAttend University

Orientation Sessions. Assist incoming students with registration, housing &

financial aid. Prepare for CAMP Orientation.

AugustAttend University late Orientation. Facilitate

CAMP Orientation. Respond to housing

inquiries and confirm class schedules.

SeptemberStart of academic year,

CAMP workshops, financial aid, housing and student

schedule adjustments. CAMP physicals. CAMP Workshops (Ongoing)

OctoberDistribute Professor

Contact Forms (PCF). CAMP Workshops (Ongoing)

NovemberCollect PCF’s and schedule

individual student meetings. Registration for Spring semester begins.
