Time is an unknown factor. For most people the uncertainty of the time is the most challenging aspect of our current state. ³How long will this last?´ ³When will we be allowed to travel, go out to eat, or simply get out around people?´ I remember at the beginning of the ³sta\ at home unless absolutely necessar\´ mandate, working mothers who were now staying at home 24/7 made schedules and daily charts for their children. I remember husbands with lists of things to ³get done´ around the house. I wonder if those have continued on with said schedules and to-do charts? Maybe. But my suspicion is«not so much. Ideas that began with fervor and enthusiasm may be already dwindling towards their demise. Goals and plans that were originally established with certainty of completion may be in jeopardy of not being completed at all. Schedules that were intelligently assembled may have been thrown by the wayside at this point. Why? Why is it so easy for people to lose passionate commitment to the ideas, goals, and schedules they create for themselves? Time. When people do not have a fixed amount of time established in their minds, passion wanes and commit tends to fade. This is why local officials aren¶t saying, ³We just need to be at home for the foreseeable future,´ because it would cause chaos within our community! People want to know time. When Jesus made the statement²Matthew 24:36, ³But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father onl\´²He stated the fact that the time we have guaranteed on this earth is unknown. I wonder if this is why some people lose passion, commitment, and fervor in their life for the Lord. I am convinced that Jesus understood this about us! Jesus continued in Matthew 24:42 and 44; ³Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming«Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.´ He knew the uncertainty of time would create within some an apathetic and indifferent view of life. Spiritual lethargy. So, our Savior has challenged us to ³sta\ awake´ and to ³be read\´ because while we may not know the exact amount of time until His coming, we know for certain that time is coming. To conclude, take Jesus¶ words in John 16:33. ³I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.´ Austin Johnson

ALL YOUTH EVENTS IN THE MONTH OF MARCH HAVE BEEN CANCELED. NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE SENT IF THERE IS A CHANGE.

    Simple Faith M I C A H 6 : 8

With our weekly Bible class kicked off, each week we are studying the book His Life. In this book each of us are reading one page a day and reflecting on the life of Christ. Because we are meeting on Thursday nights, we aren’t discussing the Friday chapter thoughts. My plan is to reflect on these thoughts here on the newsletter so we can still think about these chapters as a group.

This past Friday, the text that was considered was 1 Peter 1:19-21.I love the way this chapter reminds us about something Jesus endured. Not only did Jesus endure a tough physical path on the earth, but He endured a tougher mental path prior to the earth beginning.

One of the things that is fascinating to me is that Jesus knew what had to be done. We often times get anxiety when we consider dreadful things that are coming up, but think about how long Jesus knew that painful death on the cross was going to happen. We cannot even fathom it because of our earthly limitations. Jesus knew all along it was going to happen, and He chose to proceed on anyway because of His love for us.

The author of this chapter encourages us to serve someone this week that requires us to sacrifice. I love this challenge, because it makes our commitment to Christ a little deeper each time we make those sacrifices. Find a way this week to sacrifice to serve someone else to obey the commands of the Lord. Hope you guys are having a great week. Looking forward to being together tomorrow night at 7 pm. ---Cody

Since we have not met for our usual Monday Night for the Master ministry, and we have been asked to limit our exposure to other people, there is a great opportunity we all have to remember some of our Florence Blvd family.

One of the things we always do on Monday night is to write cards for almost any occasion to visitors, members who are sick or shut-ins or ones who have asked to be remembered in prayer. Most of the addresses can be found in our online church directory as well as phone numbers if you would rather call than send a card.

Check on our members, as their situation may change during the next several days. Some of us are able to pick up groceries or medicine during the week if needed, please make that known too. Le s not look at this virus situation as a hopeless problem but see that it is something bad that can become good.

We are all called on to be the hands and feet of Jesus here on Earth, so le s grab this opportunity to do good and excel with it!

    Thank you
