NeveS Dance Company

NeveS is a company consisting of dancers with different cultural and dance backgrounds who find unity in the freedom and necessity of moving. The company is based in Madrid and was founded in march 2016. NeveS`s vision is to be a community as a group with equal meaning of intention and expression yet value the indivuality of each and every performer. The style of the NeveS is mainly contemporary inspired by the quality and difference of each dancer.

The ideas for projects and creation of material is a sharing process which starts with improvisation from the different performers and then being created into choreography to make it as real as possible, and to communicate with the audience in a clear manner.

The dancers are Michela Lanteri from Italy, Martine Bentsen from Norway, Adrìan Dìaz Rodrìguez from Spain, Borja Bordonabe Lacunza from Spain, Iria Fernández Lumbreras from Spain.

«Vent litt... La meg forklare»«Vent litt... La meg forklare» is a piece about communication. In english the title means «Wait a moment... Let me explain».

The creation of «Vent litt..La meg forklare» was inspired by the struggle of understanding and being understood in a city where you don`t speak the language. The piece describes the process of going from being insecure and not daring to speak or express yourself, to the misunderstandings while trying to use the limited vocabulary you build up over time. Then how you find a unique way to connect with people based on several

factors.

The process of creating material and brainstorming ideas made it clear how interesting this topic was for us as a group. The lack of any communal spoken language was limiting the way to communicate and the necessity of the corporal expression grew to reach a fellow understanding. Dancers in general communicate through movement and understand better when including body language. No matter which language you speak there is an ancient way of communicating trough posture, facial expressions and the body that is equal to the majority. This piece is about how people, and especially dancers, use the body when words simply are not enough to express what we want to say.
