apologizing again.

Georgia smiles.

Livestron passes the MICROPHONE.

BILL

Firstly I´d like to thank Livestron

for this initiative. If it weren´t

for this educational program, I

FATHER

Can you imagine how beautiful the

view must be form the terrace?

Georgia looks at the San Remo.

EXT. TERRACE. CONTINUOUS.

Georgia contemplates the Central Park ahead.

She then goes inside.

INT. BEDROON. SAN REMO. NIGHT.

A cell phone rings...Georgia wakes up...turns the beside

lamp on...picks the phone up....before she can say anything,

a female voice says:

VOICE

Bill, honey. You forget your

wallet.

and then, hangs up.

Georgia throws the phone at the wall.

INT. STUDIO. TV.

A t.v host interviews a psychologist.

T.V HOST

Dr.Lessing. Do you believe that a

person who committed a murder in

the past can again act in the same

violent way, even if is living

socially in a responsible way?

PSYCHOLOGIST

Yes, I do believe. Many times a

person can live years nourishing a

wish of a violent behavior and as

he cannot, he retrains the anger

and, by doing so, his mind starts

to function like a time bomb.

INT. BEDROOM. DAY

Georgia is in bed...watching the interview.

INT. TV.STUDIO. CONTINUOUS.

A T.V host interviews a psychologist...

PSYCHOLOGIST (CONT´D)

What sets the trigger will depend

on the emotional control..and the

environment, that´s why this person

has a great vulnerability. In other

words: he is capable of making a

mistake. It does not mean it will

happen...but I have no doubt that

it is a great possibility.

Page 54: never is late to change

53.

EXT. SAN REMO.

Georgia leaves the San Remo...at the door...meets Bill.

GEORGIA

Where did you sleep?

BILL

At David´s.

GEORGIA

Follow me...

He feels pain to walk...

BILL

Slow...A policeman kicks me.

INT. COFFEE SHOP.DAY

They sit beside a window...pedestrians outside.

GEORGIA

Why her?

BILL

Your mother is the perfect

character: a rude, stupid, bitter

woman who makes no effort on

hurting others with her acid words.

There would be plenty of enemies

eager to finish her off.

GEORGIA

So, you missed the spotlights and

decided to make a huge show.

BILL

No.The idea was not making a huge

show. I´m shooting a short-movie.In

a few weeks I´ll finish it.

GEORGIA

A short-movie? You?

BILL

In fact, I was invited to

participate the Tribeca

Festival. I ´ll be one of the

speakers. My part is to talk about

the dramatization and low budget

creative possibilities. They

BILLsuggested Black Dog to be exhibited

again. It was a senseless idea. So,

I thought it over and decided to

make a low budge movie, like Black

Dog, something fast, improvised,

with real people, no acting and

spontaneous. I invited David and we

started to shoot.

EXT. MRS.JOHNSON´S HOUSE. DAY

Bill rings the bell. Mrs.Johnson lingers to answer the door.

BILL (V.O)

I need to pass the idea that

something was wrong at your

mother´s house. In this case,

neighbors are handy. Mrs Johnson is

perfect: talks too much and

suspects of everything.

Bill rings the door again.

EXT. MRS.WILKINSON. DAY.

Mrs.Wilkinson walks on the sidewalk...wears a light brown

overcoat...a dark brow hat...holds a bouquet of flowers...

GEORGIA (V.O)

So you are the killer.

BILL (V.O)

In the beginning. But to my joy a

better candidate showed up. A man

with a suspicious face. And better

still, was always at your mother´s

house.

GEORGIA(V.O)

What are you suggesting?

BILL (V.O)

She is having an affair

Page 56: never is late to change

55.

INT. COFFEE. DAY

A waitress serves coffee.

GEORGIA

(surprised)

Mr. Wilkinson? This doesn´t make

sense.

BILL

I did find strange too,..but..I

found him perfect to be the

murderer. And when we went to shoot

your mother, the police come. It

was not in my plans..but it just

made it perfect.

GEORGIA

I´m sorry. Your creativity is over.

BILL

Your comment reminded me of someone

very close to you.

GEORGIA

That´s is your problem. You can´t

forget her.

BILL

Don´t over react, please. I never

took her seriously.

GEORGIA

Oprah was interviewing a

psychologist this morning.

GEORGIA ( CONT´D)

As far as understand, your mind is

like a bomb, doesn´t know when it

is going to explode, but it will.

And it seems, it is close of doing

it.

Bill laughs and sways his head in disapproval.

BILL

And you believed?

GEORGIA

Shouldn´t I? He was an expert.

(CONTINUED.)

Page 57: never is late to change

BILL

Georgia, honey. What is the matter

with you? It is just a movie.

GEORGIA

That´s the problem. I keep asking

myself..what would happen if the

cops never showed up.

BILL

You are just like your mother.

Suspicious, make up stories and

hears one side of the story. The gun

was not loaded. I would never carry

a loaded gun.

GEORGIA

It was not what Detective Morgan

told me at the phone.

BILL

Why this moron phoned you?

GEORGIA

Do you know him?

BILL

It was him who accused me of

killing that young man.

GEORGIA

He didn´t give me any details. He

wants to talk in person. I´ve

arranged a meeting at my mother´s

house.

BILL

Will you go?

GEORGIA

Shouldn´t I?

The waiter approaches...gives the bill.

Bill searches his wallet...

GEORGIA

Where is your wallet?

BILL

I must have left it at a David´s.

Georgia pays the Bill.

She gets up.

EXT. BILL´S PICK UP TRUCK. STREET. DAY

Bill gives a hide to Georgia.

BILL

Morgan is paranoid. Sees things

that don´t exist.

GEORGIA

A paranoid policeman?

BILL

Another day he called me. He wanted

to know if I Knew some girls. They

were murdered a few years ago. He

mentioned their names, but I

didn´t know them.

GEORGIA

Murdered? What does it have to do

with you?

BILL

As I see it, there were at the same

festival. They as spectators and I

as speaker. Now the paranoid Morgan

thinks there is a connection just

because I was in the same place.

EXT.MRS.REED´S HOUSE. STREET. DAY

Bill stops in front of Mrs.Reed´s house.

GEORGIA

(ironic)

Don´t you come in? Eat a piece of

"cake from hell." My mother´s

speciality.

BILL

(ironic)

I´d rather rot in prison.

Page 59: never is late to change

58.

EXT. MRS REED´S HOUSE. FRONT DOOR. DAY

The door rings. Mrs Reed opens the door. Georgia is outside.

MRS.REED

Yes? Oh...it´s you? You are back.

Bad timing though. I´m cooking and

I haven´t cleaned up the house.

(suspicious)

Are you alone?

INT. MRS.REED´S HOUSE. KITCHEN. - CONTINUOUS.

Mrs.Reed holds a bowl, makes circular moves with a spoon.

MRS.REED

When you are leaving that worn?

GEORGIA

I love him. Beside´s there´s no

reason to do that.

MRS.REED

No reason? I´m tired of watching

him at the T.V. When he´s not

handcuffed, he´s parading with a

whore.

Mrs.Reed puts some eggs in a lot of flour.

GEORGIA

Do not over react, mother. They are

just friends.

MR REED

(dissatisfied)

Friends?

MR.REED (CONT´D)

Do you think I´m fool like

yourself? Who plays the sucker?

tell me?

Spills the dough in a cake pan and puts it in the oven.

MR.REED (CONT´D)

When you are you going to stand up

for yourself? When? I guess, never!

Do you know why? You were born to

be a vagabond´s wife.It´s the only

thing I can think of. Or is there

another reason?

Page 60: never is late to change

59.

INT. MRS REED´S HOUSE. LIVING ROOM.

Mrs.Reed comes into the living room, holds a bucket and a

broom.

GEORGIA

Deep inside you like him. But if

you treat him with the respect he

deserves, would be like you

admitted you were wrong all these

years, wouldn´t it?

As Mrs.Reed speaks, she cleans the floor.

MRS.REED

Don´t make me laugh! Once a

murderer always a murderer. Believe

it or not.

GEORGIA

You take him as one of this

characters.

MRS.REED

It´s the same crooked source. The

difference is courage, not will.

But I´m watching his steps.

MRS.Reed supports her elbow at the broom...looks at Georgia.

MR.REED (CONT´D)

If he comes here again with a gun,

I will kill him. Get it?

Back clean...

GEORGIA

That won´t be necessary. Before

that you will already be dead.

MRS.Reed supports at the broom again..

MRS.REED

Why are you saying that?

GEORGIA

Because all you do is eat your

cakes and have disgraceful

thoughts.

MRS.REED

How can I stay calm? Even in my

house I have no peace. Am I an

actress? Am I? If you excuse me.

Page 61: never is late to change

60.

INT. MRS REED´S HOUSE. OFFICE.

Georgia goes into her father´s office...the place is

empty...only the framed poster of George Washington Bridge

on the wall...the miniature of the little red lighthouse on

the desk.

Georgia pulls a chair...sits down...remains quiet...glaces

around... with a feeling of hurt.

She opens a drawer...finds a small tin toy: a colored

Chinese Dragon..

Georgia spins the side button to wind it...releases it on

the floor...It walks for a while...stops.

She puts it back in the drawer.

Georgia caresses the desk....Mrs.Reed comes into...holds a

bucket and broom.

MRS.REED

You can have it, if you want.

It´s the last rubbish of your

father.

GEORGIA

Didn´t I tell you I would take

daddy´s stuffs?

MRS.REED

You did. But never took them.

MRS.REED ( CONT´D )

They were here for years. If you

really wanted all his stuffs, you

would have already taken care of.

GEORGIA

Mom, please. Stop joking.

MRS.REED

I´m not joking. I don´t like that,

you know that.

GEORGIA

I´m must be dreaming. It can´t be

true. Where´s the project he made

Mrs.Reed remains silently.

what I mean! That creative universe

that lived here!

MRS.REED

That mess, is that what you mean?

GEORGIA

That´s it! Where is all that mess?

MRS.REED

Do I have to say again? Do I? Now

if you excuse me, I have other

thing to do.

Georgia watches her sweeping the floor.

MRS.REED

Are you going to watch me clean?

GEORGIA

Pay attention, mother: don´t throw

away the desk. Are you listening?

nor the lighthouse or the George

Washington Bridge poster.Never! I

will send someone to pick them up

later. Was I clear enough?

MRS.REED

So hurry up. I need the space

cleared.

MRS.REED

Why the rush?

MRS.REED

I´m renting the office.

GEORGIA

Rent? The money I sent you is not

enough?

MRS.REED

It´s not for the money. It´s for

companion. I´m tired of being

alone.

INT. MRS.REED´S HOUSE. KITCHEN. CONTINUOUS.

Mrs.Reed spies the cake in the oven...

GEORGIA

Are you have an affair?

MRS.REED

Don´t be ridiculous. At my age?

MRS.REED ( CONT´D )

To have endured your father, may

God rest his soul, was enough.

GEORGIA

Are you?

BILL

Of course not!

GEORGIA

So explain this: Why does Mr.

Wilkinson have to be here everyday?

MRS.REED

Who?

GEORGIA

Whether I call Mrs.Johnson?

MRS.REED

Old gossipy! He´s helping me

cleaning the office. Or do you

think I´m capable of doing it all

by myself?

EXT. MRS.REED´S HOUSE. BACKYARD. DAY

Georgia follows her mother. Mrs.Reed pour out water in the

tank and opens the tap. She opens the washing machine and

Mrs Reed bends over the oven. Georgia leans against the

sink...

GEORGIA

I don´t know who to believe. It

seems everything is lying to me.

MRS.REED

No one told you to marry that lying

murderer. I told you so.

MRS.REED

Hand over that glove

Georgia gets the glove and gives it to her.

GEORGIA

By the way, did a reporter come

here?

MRS.REED

No.

Georgia looks at her...

MRS.REED

I told her I was not going to say a

world and it was no use insisting.

But the fool was deaf. She wanted

to everything happened.

GEORGIA

And what did really happen?

INT. MRS.REED´S HOUSE. KITCHEN.

Mrs Reed takes the cake out of the oven..

MRS.REED

I could never imagine it was the

name again?

GEORGIA

David.

She spreads a reddish icing on the cake.

Understand one thing: that worn

need to make everything seem

normal.

GEORGIA

Normal?

MRS.REED

Is as if he had two personalities.

He is a murdered but...at same time

is a famous movie director. And

this creates a conflict in your

head...and instead of solving the

problem in a straightforward

way...invented this film..which is

nothing more than an excuse for his

head to accept the idea of the

approach.....and once near....the

dark side of the force will

act...and become aware of the

absurd only when I fall dead on the

floor.

The door rings.

MRS.REED

Wilkinson?

EXT. MRS.REED´S HOUSE. DAY

Georgia escorts Det.Morgan to his car.

MORGAN

As far as I know, it was a big

mistake.

GEORGIA

Bill is producing a short-film. He

EXT. MRS.REED´S HOUSE.STREET.DAY .

Detective Morgan takes a pack of cigarettes...

GEORGIA

What brings you here, Mr Morgan?

DET.MORGAN

In fact I´m working on a complex

case and wanted to clear some

doubts.

GEORGIA

What kind of doubts?

DET.MORGAN

I´m investigating the murder of

three young women. The media is

following this case. I don´t know

if you are aware of it.

GEORGIA

Any suspect?

DET.MORGAN

INT. MRS.REED HOUSE.

Mrs.Reed snoops by window...

EXT. MRS.REED HOUSE.

Det.Morgan looks at Mrs Reed´s house..sees Mrs. Reed..

GEORGIA

Det.Morgan. What my husband has to

do all these murders?

DET.MORGAN

The other day, I watched a movie

called "Murderous Perversity".I

like a lot. If I´m not mistaken,

Mr.Dreves won an important award

with it.

GEORGIA

I see, so what?

DET.MORGAN

What called my attention was the

coincidence between the story of

the movie and the case of the

murdered women. See my point of

view. At the movie, the young woman

dreamed about becoming an actress

and ends up dead.

GEORGIA

You don´t have to tell me.I know

the script.

DET.MORGAN

In this case, you remember she

wanted to be an actress and before

being killed, she wanted to an

audition.

(CONTINUED.)

Page 70: never is late to change

GEORGIA

So what?

DET.MORGAN

All the murdered women shared the

same dream.

GEORGIA

All girls in this country dream of

that.

(ironic)

Have you never dreamed of becoming

a Clint Eastwood?

DET.MORGAN

(he smiles unconfortable)

There are other coincidences that

intrigue me. For example: each girl

lived in different state, small

hometowns and far from each

other. However, there is a point in

common. All the towns held a film

festival every year.

DET.MORGAN (CONT´D)

Now, if I may say so, I would like

to make an interesting observation.

In each of these towns, Mrs Dreves

was there. And curious enough, he

approached them with the same small

talk; looking for new talents.

DET.MORGAN (CONT´D)

It requires patience and

dedication...but Mr.Dreves doesn´t

mind spending hours testing the

women. Especially among four walls,

if you know what I mean.

GEORGIA

I´m sorry, Det.Morgan.Your paranoid

is going too far. Never thought of

seeking treatment?

DET.MORGAN

There is no need...I can still see

the facts in their rightful

dimensions.

Is that all?

has happened..would take some

precautions.

GEORGIA

What kind?

DET.MORGAN

Wouldn´t be wiser for you to carry

a gun?

GEORGIA

You are really sick.

DET.MORGAN

I understand your reaction. You

must really believe Mr.Dreves was

here to film your mother.

INT. SAN REMO BUILDING. DAY.

Georgia returns...meets Mr.Wilkinson...behind the reception

GEORGIA

Mr.Wilkinson. Are in love with...?

happened is only making you

stressed.

MRS.REED

Let´s not talk about illness.Every

pore aches.

GEORGIA

(lovely)

Look at me. You must take care of

yourself.

MR.S REED

I take my medicines. When I

remember.

She puts the cake in the refrigerator.

GEORGIA

Can you come away on a trip with me

today?

MRS.REED

Trip? What for?

GEORGIA

I´m going to spend some days at a

famous Spa.

MRS.REED

No way! Do you think I´m stupid

enough to starve in a Spa? I may be

fat, but I am not crazy.

Mrs.Reed cuts a piece of cake.

MRS.REED

I´d rather stay home, eating my

cakes, and by the way, this one is

delicious.

It´s not all that sacrifice you

think.

don´t bring this up again. I have

lots to do. The house is a mess.I´m

up to my neck with cake to deliver.

Georgia looks at the control of sales set in the door of the

refrigerator...sees ZEROS, ZEROS, ZEROS...

GEORGIA

In this case I´ll have to make some

drastic measures.

MRS.REED

What will you do? Call that worm to

kill me? Is that it?

GEORGIA

I have a better idea. What if I

stop sending you money. What do you

think?

MRS. REED

Now I know why you married that

shit. You´re two of a kind.

INT. SAN REMO. BEDROOM . CONTINUOUS.

her mind.

BIL

In this case, let´s take her by

force. I have a plan.

INT. MRS.REED´S HOUSE.DAY

Mrs.Reed well dressed answers the door. Georgia waits on the

outside.

MRS.REED

What are you doing here?

GEORGIA

Where is your baggage?

MRS.REED

I have too late for regrets.

GEORGIA

Hurry up, mother.

MRS.REED

Are you deaf? I am not going

anywhere.

GEORGIA

Don´t make matters worse.

MRS.REED

As if I care. Go to hell you and

doesn´t have a thief?

GEORGIA

A thief of cakes, you mean.Where is

the Key?

MRS.REED

You are so stubborn.There is

nothing there that interest you.

GEORGIA

The key, mom.

Mrs.Reed throws the key to Georgia.

MRS.REED

You may take a look. Make sure I´m

not lying.

Afraid, Mrs.Reed looks sideways.

He holds a camera on his shoulder.

BILL

DAVID

I am David, the Devil´s assistant.

MRS.REED

What are these worms doing here? Is

this a kidnap?

GEORGIA

They are driving us to the Spa.

MRS.REED

I am not going anywhere.

Mrs.Reed tries to open the door...is locked...Bill starts

the car...drives away...fast..David points the camera at Mrs

Reed´s direction.

MRS.REED

Stop!! I want to get out! He will

kill me.

Mrs Reed attacks his arm and holds the gun.

MRS.REED

I´m not afraid of you, you worm!

Bill drives the car with his left arm.

MRS.REED

You won´t kill me, bastard!

BILL

Drop the gun!

The car goes from side to side, as if out of control.

Georgia puts her hands over her mother´s hand trying to

loose Bill´s hands.

GEORGIA

Drop the gun!

A battle of will takes place...Ms. Reed pulls with full

force....the gun points to her stomach... Bill redouble

forces...pulls the gun toward David.

The gun fires, breaking the window next to David...

See if you can get thinner, pig!

Bill gets into the car.

David is at the car´s window...aiming the camera at them.

DAVID

It was a pleasure, Mrs Reed.

MRS.REED

Go back to hell, you worms.

INT. RECEPTION. SPA.

We see a Fernando Botero´s sculpture..a four meters high...a

naked woman...it stands in the middle of the room.

Georgia and Mrs Reed stare at the sculpture.

HOSTESS

She is very pretty, is not she? We

call her Nina. The Spa´s owner is

an art enthusiast and is

transforming the Spa in an open sky

museum. At first, it was in the

garden at mercy of the weather.A

few days back, she was brought in

to the wall.

HOSTESS (CONT´D)

According to professor BRENDON, her

presence here is to remind us all

how beautiful an over-weighted

woman can be, in spite of the

beauty dictatorship insisting the

contrary.

Who is the professor Brendon?

HOSTESS

He is responsible for the History

of Art classes. With the

acquisition of a great number of

art, the guests´ curiosity

increased so much.

GEORGIA

Is there still vacancy?

HOSTESS

Yes, of course. As you can see,

no-one is to watch a History of Art

class. Most of the guest want to

relax or work up their bodies.

HOSTESS (CONT´D)

If you want to know some more,

Prof.Brendon will make a

presentation lecture of his course

in a few minutes at auditorium A.

INT. SPA.

The hostess takes both of them to their room.

in the car was enough. Did you have

to grab the gun?

MRS.REED

Next time I will stay with my arms

wide open, is that what you want?

GEORGIA

It was a joke. Bill had warned me.

It was just to scare you.

MRS.REED

That worm is up to something. He

GEORGIA

Well,...it is time for Prof.

Brendon´s Class.

GEORGIA (CONT´D)

Are you going?

MRS.REED

I hate art, you know...I will be

around...

INT. AUDITORIUM. SPA. PROF BRENDON.

We see sixty seats available, separated in two blocks by an

aisle. Eighteen people are waiting to hear the presentation.

In front there is a small desk with a laptop and a bottle of

water. Prof.Brendon is crouched, backwards, at the corner,

next to projection equipment. He is about his mid-seventies,

tall and thin. After working out some technical problems, he

stands up and goes to the middle of the room.

PROF.BRENDON

I can see that a lot of my last

week classmates are still guests

here. Anne, Susan, Cindy,

Mrs.O´Neill, Liz? Any new jokes,

Liz?

LIZ

A new Joke? Well..answer this: Why

in this Spa do you have to teach

art wearing swim trucks?

PROF.BRENDON

Swim trucks?

LIZ

Because all the students are at the

aquatic fitness class.

Page 85: never is late to change

No one give up...everyone happy...Mrs Reed is admired.

INT. AUDITORIUM. PROF BRENDON.

Prof.Brendon stands up and goes to the middle of the room.

PROF.BRENDON

small presentation, I will show how

art can help to get thinner.

Prof.Brendon turns off the light and turns on the projector.

At the projection: "The woman in the mirror" by Picasso.

PROF.BRENDON

Can any of you....

A cough interrupts...

PROF.BRENDON

Excuse me...Can any of you say the

name of the artist?

INT.RESTAURANT. MOMENTS LATER.

Georgia enters the restaurant. On the left, there is a man

wearing a glittering blue suit playing at a piano. Georgia

walks among the tables looking for a place to sit.

Liz turns to her direction and calls Georgia.

LIZ

Please, dear, join us.

They laugh.

LIZ

It seem you like arts. You did well

at Prof.Brendon´s class.

INT. AUDITORIUM. SPA. PROF BRENDON.

Prof.Brendon stands up and goes to the middle of the room.

GEORGIA

Pablo Picasso.

PROF.BRENDON

Can you....

A cough interrupts...

PROF.BRENDON

Sorry. Can you tell me the name of

this painting?

GEORGIA

The woman in the mirror.

Many of the guest present turn their attention to Georgia.

PROF.BRENDON

Right. The Woman in the Mirror",a

painting of...

A cough interrupts...

PROF.BRENDON (CONT´D)

Sorry...1937.What is this woman

thinking as she sees her body´s

reflection?

LIZ

Maybe: "Oh my God, how fat I am".

All the presents laugh as well.

PROF.BRENDON

In other words: what a woman

looking at herself in a mirror

symbolical represents?

Page 87: never is late to change

A lady in pink tracksuit answers:

LADY

In my opinion, it represents the

need to face challenges.

PROF.BRENDON

Exactly. Or a feeling of

incompetence will take over. Maybe

the next painting will be more

clear.

Prof.Brendon changes the projection: "Woman in tears, by

Picasso.

PROF.BRENDON

"Woman in tears", from 1937.

Question: Why is she crying?

LIZ

I don´t know the reason.But is she

were a guest here, it would be of

hunger.

All the presents laugh as well.

PROF.BRENDON

Could it be a portrait of someone

who wants to loose weight?

LIZ.

If we think of the sacrifice

involved, why not?

PROF.BRENDON

Or to loose weight is something

horrible?

Prof.Brendon changes the projection: "The scream" by Edvard

Munch.

PROF.BRENDON

In this case, the painting "The

scream" by Edvard Munch, represents

it better?

LIZ

This painting is more

representative. Who never wanted to

scream when having to go up a

scale?

Again, the answer makes all laugh.

(CONTINUED.)

Page 88: never is late to change

PROF.BRENDON

Or could the process of losing

weight similar to flowers?

Prof.Brendon changes the projection: "Sunflowers" by Van

Gogh.

LIZ

I don´t believe it can be as easy

as that.

New projection: "Guernica" by Picasso.

PROF.BRENDON

Now, let´s see "Guernica".It was

painting by Picasso in 1937. Let´s

back to the moment before the

painting, before Picasso´s

intention of making it real, when

he was before a blank canvas. What

did he have in mind? The failure,

the doubt, the fear or the wish of

making something of great

importance an value, as if he had

the power to change the world? So I

ask: if to lose weight was a blank

canvas what would be your attitude

before it?

LIZ

What would be my attitude? To be

honest, I would not be as easy or

have the same belief as Picasso.

PROF.BRENDON

And you Ma´am. What is your

opinion?

LADY

I would not have the same

determination.

INT. SPA.RESTAURANT.

Georgia is at a table. An employee approaches.

INT. RESTAURANT.

Mrs Reed appears at the front door...Georgia

GEORGIA

Where have you been?

MRS.REED

At the garden, talking to

Prof.Brendon. Besides being an old

tuberculous man, he is a needy man.

GEORGIA

A needy man, mom? Did he tell you

that?

MRS.REED

No. I am not blind. His eyes were

shining, he was smiling, he looked

like a homeless dog, ready to show

his tongue and give me his paw.

GEORGIA

And you got attracted to him?

MRS.REED

Why not? He is widower, lives alone

MRS.REED

Start what?

GEORGIA

Art is a subject that irritates you

deeply, you know that damn well.

And Professor Brendon most likely

can talk about art. So, I ask: What

are going to do? Are you going to

be interested in art or are you

going to tell him to shut up, as

you did with father.

INT. AUDITORIUM. PROF BRENDON. CONTINUOUS.

Prof.Brendon looks to the end of the room.

PROF.BRENDON

And the lady at the back?

MRS.REED

None of your business!

They all look at her direction...Mrs Reed feels the

pressure...as she was about to leave, Prof.Brendon once

requires her to take part.

PROF.BRENDON

From what are you running away?

MRS.REED

I came to the wrong room. Now, if

you will excuse me.

Prof Brendon insists.

PROF.BRENDON

Do you consider weight-loss

a painful process?

MR.REED

I don´t know. I´m not here to lose

weight.

Page 91: never is late to change

bothering me.

PROF.BRENDON

Would you agony be the same as the

painting "the scream" by Edvard

munch?( changing the projection)

MRS.REED

That is what I´m going to do if you

don´t shut up!

INT. RESTAURANT. CONTINUOUS.

Georgia and Mrs Reeds talk.

MRS.REED

The more you whip, the more they

different.Deep inside he needs a

dominating woman. A strong woman

who says what needs to be done.

DET.MORGAN

in front of the cameras. I feel

safe at the back of the stage,

solving a murder puzzle.

Don´t you think you are pushing too

much for the pieces to fit in?

DET.MORGAN

this better than me.

DET.MORGAN (CONT´D)

violent, it is irrelevant. What I

I wanted to protect her.

DET.MORGAN

That was your mistake. There was

nothing to protect her from. As I

said before, he was not even armed.
