    HDCs EVALUATION AFTER THE MENTORING PROGRAM

    HDCs scopes of work in the MoA dated 10th August 2009 are contrary as stated in theWorking Group (WG) Proposal dated on 18th January 2010 , in which:

    MoA WG Proposal

    (a) HDC shall use its best endeavor to develop

    the Halal ingredient industry.

    Not specified in the proposal.

    (b) HDC to develop the capacity of the

    participating SMEs in relation to Halal matters.

    Need further discussion.

    ( c) HDC shall include NESTLE in its international

    promotion of Malaysia.

    Need further discussion. This item does not

    mentioned in the proposal.

    (d) HDC to assist NESTLE in its Halal food

    development.

    Need further discussion.

    (e) HDC to offer training and consultancy with

    respect to Halal certification and assist in the

    promotion of SMEs in the Halal industry.

    HDC EXPECTATIONFOR THE MENTORING PROGRAM

    The initial proposal is to establish a Report Card that consists of

    Moving forward, HDC hopes to focus on the participants for their adaptation,

    development and progress on:-

    (i) Creation of Halal Committee(ii) Certification and Compliance

    By the end of MoA in August 2011, HDC wants to develop 9 SMEs that fulfill

    either one of the requisites as stated on the Report Card.

    Inevitably, HDC hopes that Nestle will select at least 1 SME to be absorbed as one

    of its suppliers.
