Brief History
Nestle (founded by Henri Nestle) was originally the first European condensed milk factory
opened in Switzerland by the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company in 1866. Later in 1905,
The Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company (founded by Americans Charles and George Page),
combined with Nestl after a couple of decades as fierce competitors to form the Nestl and
Anglo-Swiss Milk Company. Since then, Nestle has nourished across the globe starting from
World War 1. It is now a multinational food and beverage company with various products
including breakfast cereals, baby food, dairy products etc.
Size & Profit
As mentioned earlier, Nestle has expended its branch throughout the world. Nestle offices can be
found from countries starting from alphabets A-Z, which is EVERYWHERE. Since the day it
was founded up till today, Nestle now has approximately 470 factories, operating in more than
86 countries, and around 330,000 employees. It is no doubt a for profit business. Main
competitors of Nestle include PepsiCo, Krafts Food, Mars Incorporated and many more but this
still cant stop Nestle from being the worlds top food and beverage company as theymade an
astonishing total profit of $11.55 Billion last year. Nestle has around 8,000 brands with a wide
range of product including coffee, seasonings, chocolate, pet food and many more. In the year
end 2010, Nestle held 29.7% of the shares ofL'Oral.

The Nestle Corporation is headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland. It has the largestResearch and

Research centres and 31 Product Technology Centres and R&D centres worldwide), and over
5,000 people involved in Research and Development.Nestle also has corporate venture fundsand research partnerships with business partners and universities. Nestle products could be found
almost in any shopping mall, markets and almost any place. Its all around us, making it

Roles in Community & Jobs
Nestle did not only put their thoughts into making profit for the company but is also helping the
community. Nestle launched the Good Nutrition Programs in several countries to help children
adopt healthy nutrition habits as a component of a healthy lifestyle. Nestl also announced to
invest more than $500 million between 2011 and 2020 to develop health and wellness products
to help prevent and treat major diseases like diabetes and Alzheimers. Also, they need sufficient
employees in order to keep the business going as it is a worldwide business. Jobs like mechanic
maintenance and project engineer are included but I prefer to work in the R&D to improve food
and beverages that could improve the lives of others. The slogan Good Food, Good Life says it
all. Nestle wants to help. Its not about size, its about trust.
