Is So Important
About the AWPT Program
• Issued Powered Access License (PAL) Card upon completion of the program
• PAL Card valid for five years
• Flexibility with 24/7 access
• PAL Cards include fraud prevention features such as operator’s photo and hologram to prevent forgeries
• Central database of valid operators with PAL Cards
• IPAF-qualified instructors or evaluators
• Independently audited by third party inspectors
• Repeatable, consistent training and testing
Improved Performance and Lowered Costs
Benefits of International Powered Access Federation’s (IPAF’S) eLearning and
Hands-On Training Program
• Better operation and maintenance of the equipment; and therefore, significantly reducedrisk of mechanical delays
• Lower risk of injury and fewer accidents, which can result in lower insurance premiums
• Projects completed safely and on time
• Successful online completion of eLearning Training Module + successful completion of Hands-on Practical Evaluation = PAL Card.
• The eLearning consists of 12 individual online modules
• Trainees may log into the eLearning asmany times as necessary, with their progress saved, until they have completed the program
• The AWPT Operator eLearning requires approximately 2-3 hours to complete
• Hands-on Practical Evaluation is completed using established operation course layouts and activity checklist

• Over 90% of accidents on AWPs are the result of operator error
