1 Overview WM620 demo board can supply power for the module and communicate with a computer directly

through the USB interface so that you can commission the module and download software for it.

Meanwhile the reserved audio and SIM card interfaces facilitate the commissioning. This

document describes the commissioning process. For details about software update, refer to module

update document.

2 Connection and Commissioning

2.3 Connecting to a Computer The board and a computer are connected in the following way.

2.4 Commissioning Before the commissioning, you must install the PL2303 Windows Driver. You must ensure that the

demo board is connected to a computer as shown in the following figure during the driver

installation and commissioning.

9002(com7) are displayed under Ports (COM&LPT1) in the Device Manager pane of the

Computer Management window, the serial port is read properly. The serial port numbers might

be various with the computer.

Step 1 Start the commissioning tool SecureCRT.

Step 2 Select Serial from the Protocol dropdown list. The following dialog box is displayed.

Step 3 After setting parameters, click Connect. The port commissioning window is displayed.

You can also input commands and press Enter

to send the commands.

Select the serial port.

Set Baud rate to

115200 if no specific

requirements.

Disconnect the connection to the serial port.



3 Installing USB Drivrer (Win7)

3.1 Switching to Test Mode

Step 1 Click Start and choose All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Run as

Administrator.

Step 2 Enter bcdedit /set testsigning on in the CLI.

3.2 Installing Certificate

Step 1 Access the HK11-VB717-34_1.0.69\TestCertificate\ directory.

Step 2 Right-click the qcusbtest.cer file and choose install certificate from the shortcut menu.

Step 3 In the Wizard dialog box, click Next and click Place all certificates in the following

store on the Certificate Store page.



Step 4 Click Browse and choose the Trusted Publishers folder.

Step 5 Repeat step 1 to step 4 and choose the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder.

Step 6 Click Next to install. In the Security Warning dialog box, click Yes. The certificate

will be installed.



3.3 Installing Drivers

Step 1 Right-click My Computer on the desktop and choose Manage from the shortcut menu.

Step 2 In the window that is displayed, select Device Manager on the left navigation tree and

choose Other Devices > Update Driver Software in the right pane.



Step 3 In the update window, click Browse to choose the local driver file

HK11-VB717-34_1.0.69\Win64\AMD64\checked and click Next.

The following window will be displayed after the driver is installed successfully.



Step 4 Check the device manager.

The ports are displayed in at device manager after the installation.
