L t i l i t y E ' i n g i s a l s o high on the list, with over 100 countries heard. fi': ICi'in:: has brought me about 500 s ta t ions . SwEC and P;d a r e next, of roughly equal i n t e r e s t .

I got s t a r t e d i n DXting back i n 1953 or 1954 whein I wa's 8 o r 9 years old i n Santa Rasa, l!.li.; a 1 9 2 model Fhilco console brought i n such r a r i t i e s a s NSM, and I even kept a log of sor ts . tlish I c o d d f ind it today1 It was not u n t i l 1959. when I was i n Gclahoma Clty, t h a t I began t o DX seriously. And today, following moves t o m d , GI<. , Clayton. tlo., i*aadison, Ws., Albuquerque. N.H., and now Denver, I have accumulated about 40 countries.

A l l this moving around has discouraged me from acquiring r e a l l y top equipment. I struggled along w i t h an S38E until December, 1966, when I got my present receiver , a iiamarlund :?Q-160.
