Out of N=50 questionnaires , N=48 were responded

n=26 were males

n=22 were female

35% of participants were undergraduate

65% of participants were graduate (currently

studying in Johnson & Wales University)

31% participants were doing full time job

30% participants were doing part time job

39% participants were jobless

45% of sample spent 6 to 8 hours per day

23% of sample spent more than 8 hours per

day

20% of sample spent 2 to 4 hours

Only 12% of sample spent less than 2 hours

Social Networking websites are also used by

businesses for marketing of their products.

Facebook Addiction Disorder — a psychological disorder

“When people are afraid to disconnect from social media services because they think they’re going to be missing something important. In a paper that will soon be published in the journal Psychological Science , led by Wilhelm Hofmann, has found that Facebook and social media websites may be as addictive as alcohol or cigarettes.”

Students while searching and studying

online, they get attracted to using social

media sites and sometimes forget while they

are using it. this waste their time, and

sometimes, students are not able to deliver

their work in the specified time frame.

Students who are using technology

including the social networking sites on a

regular basis tend to have more stomach

aches, besides sleeping problems, as well

as anxiety and depression.

So many children get addicted to social

networking that it becomes their main

priority. Because of this people spend most

of their time in front of their electronic

devices instead of getting the proper

exercise and exposure to fresh air and

nature.This causes to many people to

become over weight.

Cyber bullying is the huge problem around

the world.It is when somebody decides to use

social networking to make fun of another

person or mistreat them.The victim usually

loses lots of self-stream and loses their self-

confidence.This is also the cause of tons of

suicides.

No matter how secure a website is,hackers

always find a way to spread worms on the

site.Before clicking on links make sure its

safe because it can give you and your friends

computer viruses.

Also having to do with hackers ,when you put

your PayPal account in to pay for

memberships or games it is easy for hackers

to get in and use that information to buy

things with your money.

Use of social media is almost

unavoidable.

In the next 20 years it will become impossible

to break the attachment between the teen and

screen.
