4. IMPLEMENTATION & FOLLOW-UPPackaging solutions are delivered and imple-mented in the customer’s logistics flow. Nefab offers support and coordination during the implementation phase.

1. NEEDS ANALYSISThe first step is to understand the product characteristics and logistics flows at the customer. Based on this, a status report is created based on the six cost drivers: handling, product protection, transportation, warehousing, administration, and environment.

3. SELECTION OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICESThe right products and materials are selected according to previous analyses and testing results. During this step, decisions to implement additional services that can reduce the custom-er’s packaging costs are made.

PLYWOOD BOXESNefab’s nail-less plywood boxes, Nefab ExPak, are constructed of plywood and galvanized steel, ensuring safety and security for your products from the starting point to their final destination. Plywood material allows the boxes to breathe, limiting the exposure to moisture during transportation.

WOODEN CRATESNefab offers different kinds of wooden crates that are suitable for most combinations of valuable, sensitive and heavy equipment. The CratePak-O is Nefab’s wooden crate solution that is easy and quick to assemble without using any nails.

CORRUGATED PACKAGINGCorrugated boxes are widely used due to their low cost. Nefab offers corrugated boxes in many different styles, from standard box sizes to completely customized solutions.

LIGHTWEIGHT PALLETSNefab’s product range includes wood, corrugated, plastic and light-weight plywood pallets. The Lightweight Pallet (LWP) is made with a plywood top and galvanized steel. This solution is both extremely light and durable.

Returnable Packaging

A reusable packaging system is perfectly suited for closed logistics systems with fixed distribution and arrival points. By replacing one-way packaging with a returnable solution, the use of material can be mini-mized for economic and environmental benefits.

Once the packaging arrives at the final destination, the box is collected and sent back. By using collapsible pack-aging the return freight becomes a minor cost factor.

STEEL RACKS & CONTAINERSSteel products have a long lifetime and their strength protects products from impacts and rough handling. The design can be fully customized to provide optimal handling on the production line. Nefab’s packaging engineers design steel racks and containers that can be fully customized for optimal protection and ergonomic handling.

PLYWOOD CONTAINERSNefab’s nail-less plywood boxes, Nefab RePak, are constructed of plywood and galvanized steel. Due to their lightweight plywood material and collapsibility ratio they ensure ease of handling and assembly.

PLASTIC CONTAINERSNefab offers a wide range of packaging systems made of plastic materials. These kinds of solutions are user-friendly and very sturdy in relation to their weight. A plastic system is a good alternative where wood is not allowed.

PALLET COLLARSA flexible collar system has all the advantages of a modern return-able system. It is a standardized way of transporting goods, and damaged collars or lids can easily be replaced. Furthermore, it is collapsible and has a strong and reliable design.

WATERTIGHT BOXES & CASESOur watertight boxes and cases are built to meet the toughest demands on the market, such as long-term outdoor use, water, and chemical resistance. With different kinds of inner fittings Nefab can customize watertight boxes and cases to fit almost any product.

PLYWOOD BOXES & CASESPlywood boxes and cases, also called PlyPak, are made of high-quality plywood and are UV-coated both inside and outside. Nefab PlyPak boxes and cases are suitable for frequent handling and long-term storage.

FLIGHTCASESFlightcases are made from coated plywood or lightweight plastic sheets with aluminium profiles. Flightcases are highly suitable for transport, handling and storage of electronics, instruments, and other devices.

BLOCKING & FILLINGNefab offers blocking and filling materials that protect the product. Blocking materials immobilize the products whereas the void-filling materials fill the empty spaces around the packed product.

CUSHIONINGFoam cushioning is used to protect against shock and vibration. There are numerous different options to protect the goods and the final solution will be dependent on factors such as: product fragility, product weight, shipping and handling conditions, batch size, and more.

ESDMany electrical components can be damaged beyond repair by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Nefab has ESD experts and a complete range of shielding, conductive, insulating, and dissipative products to design solutions that offer the required protection.

CORROSION PROTECTIONCorrosion protection is required for products transported under harsh conditions of high humidity and temperature changes. Nefab offers a variety of corrosion protection solutions, such as barriers (PE, PET, and aluminum), desiccants (silica gel, clay), and corrosion inhibitors (VCI products and emitters).

PLASTIC WRAPPING Films have different characteristics and are used to keep packaging together and to protect from dust and dirt (stretch film, shrink film).

LOAD SECURING Packaging must be closed appropriately before shipping. Our solutions range from paper tapes and plastic strapping, PET, or polyester strapping to metal strapping.

INDICATORS Indicators are used for indicating damaging events in the supply chain such as shocks, temperatures, tilting, and high humidity.

TOOLS AND MACHINES Effective packing operations may require different tools and machines. Welding machines for sealing barriers and paper pad machines for making filling material are some examples.
