NEED TO KNOW: LAX TERMINAL CHANGES Beginning in May, Los Angeles Internaonal Airport (LAX) will undergo the biggest relocaon operaon in the airport’s storied history. Starng on May 12, Delta Air Lines will relocate from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3. The move is expected to affect 21 carriers overall, accounng for approximately one-third of all airlines that operate out of LAX. The transion will be implemented over three nights (May 12, May 14, and May 16), with each airline beginning operaons from its new locaon the following morning. The terminal shuffle is a precursor to Delta’s Sky Way, a $1.9 billion plan to modernize and upgrade the terminals (including the Tom Bradley Internaonal Terminal) over the next seven years. During the transion, travelers should check to see which terminal their flight departs from, as many airlines will be operang out of new terminals. IMPORTANT TIPS Check-in online, print a boarding pass, and reconfirm terminal and gate numbers before going to LAX. When entering the airport, look for signs direcng you to the correct terminal. Once at LAX, check flight and gate status on display boards in each terminal. Plan ahead and allow extra me for walking. Some flights have check-in at one terminal with departure from another.
