BE CIVIL For Diploma Holders Program

Introduction:

Engineering education leading to Bachelor degree has a practice of taking students from two streams: i) after completion of intermediate in science (10+2, Higher Secondary or pre-university) and ii) after the completion of Diploma courses in different streams of engineering , technology and having acquired certain years of field based work experience. Both the streams of intake are in practice around the world. Across the globe, including Nepal, evolution of advanced engineering stemmed from Diploma level education which gradually advanced to Bachelor, Masters’ and Doctoral level. Academic progression after completion of Diploma in Engineering is considered better in many parts of the world. It is meritorious because it provides opportunity of building advanced theoretical knowledge and skill based learning.

Bachelor courses for Sub Engineers in different areas are offered to provide opportunity of academic advancement to those who aspire to take up advanced studies leading to Bachelor and Masters Degree. The aim of such course is to provide theoretical, analytical and practical skills through appropriate blending with the prior knowledge and practice based learning. As a result, the Sub Engineers are transformed into skilled engineers that lead to play an important role in designing, development, operation and management of engineering systems.

Nepal Engineering College (nec) entered into offering Bachelor course in Civil Engineering for Diploma graduates since 2000 A.D. in affiliation to Pokhara University.
