WESTFIELD UNVEILS NEW COMMUNICATION TOOLS FOR NEW YEAR

Westfield,IN- One local municipality Is lfYlng to make 11easier for resdents and businesses to stay informed in the coming year.

The city of Westfield is unveiling three new interactlve maps designed to help residents track snow plowing, road projects and economic development.

This winter, residents can tog onto Westfield's home page (www.westfiekl.in.gov) and track snow andice removal during winter weather events Via aninteractive map.

·our interactive maps are one of the most powerful tools at our disposal to deliver information; said Publc Works Director Ken Alexander. "By creating processes within our snow removal team, we have effectively aeated reaHime information to share witn our residents."

Residents can also stay up-to-date on road projects year-round by clicking on the Road Projects" tab ound on Westfield's homepage. Theinteradive map provides rea tlme updates on infrastructure projects that wt11 affect residents, such as roadclosures.lane restrictions and roundabout construction. The map also includes projected start and end dates for projects so residents can make acc:ommodabOns in their travel routes.

Westfield's economic development team is aso p ohing in.

·we are always looking for ways to provide better information to support and encourage Westfield's robust economte development environment," Economic anc! Community Development Director Matt Skelton said.

Development projects can be found., the "What's happening here?' tab found on the department's home page. T.he interactive map allows residents and businesses to view developer requests, proposed sites, acreage information and contact information for p4anners assjgned to the project. •rhe development world does not dock in at 8 a.m. and out at 5 p.m. It just makes sense to have the City's mformation gateway available whene\ler the community needs : Skelton said.

J rea liie cul-de-sac are the last to be plowed but whef' the rest of the road is done, you would thin the cul-de-sac could be gi\·en the same sef\1ce.
