NDM is a Norwegian company started up by a group o senior engineers, the key personnel with up to

30 - 35 years o experience.

This expertise covers winch design, manuacture, operation and service. From mooring winches and

windlasses or merchant vessels, tug winches, winches or AHTS vessels and oshore rig winches.

All drive systems are oered, LP(Low Pressure) and HP(High Pressure) hydraulics, as well as electrical.

The hydraulic driven winches can be supplied with complete hydraulic power packs and system valves.

All winches are supplied with acilities or local and/or remote control rom deck, bridge or other local

control stations.

In addition to designing and supplying winches, NDM has developed a range o LP Hydraulic Drives or

winches. This range comprises 3 types o 64 bar Low Pressure Motors, 60 l, 30 l, 15 l displacement.

The LP motors o 2 chamber type have ull pulling power in both directions, with higher speed range and

dynamic braking power than any other on the market.

NDM’s range o winches will be tailor made to the requirements o the customer.

Anch Wndass Wnchs

Whatever your anchor application, NDM’s line o anchor windlasses oers a

variety o styles and sizes to handle it. Our anchor windlass winches are designed

or up to 160mm chain with a range o drive options available. Standard eatures

include abricated steel construction, gears hardened to exceed working load re-

quirements, clutched and braked drum and corrosion resistance. Electric or

hydraulic drives are available along with warping heads. We can modiy wind-

lasses to suit your application and special operating requirements.

NDM’s anchor windlass winches have rugged design; heavy duty split bronze

bearings and amply dimensioned brakes. The operating mechanism or brakes

and clutches are designed or easy and sae manual operation, but may also be

remotely operated by hydraulic cylinders. The brakes are easily adjustable, and all

transer o external orces to the deck construction is by the oundation bolts.

The winch design provides easy access to all points or lubrication and inspections.

Twn Wnchs

For all types o tugs, also combined with cable liters, NDM oers a wide range o towing winches.

These can be powered by electric or hydraulic drive and are delivered with or without spooling device.

Towing winches can be delivered with single or double drum in waterall or with linear design.

The winches can be delivered with joystick bridge control with required unctions and automation, inaddition to the local control on the winch. The rugged design made by experienced engineers ensures

trouble ree operation under extreme conditions.

NDM’s base models o towing winches can be tailor made to your requirements. NDM’s towing winches

are designed or the extreme conditions onboard tugs.

Our winches can be delivered with single or double drum in waterall or linear design.

The winches can be delivered with joystick bridge control with all required unctions and automa-

tion, in addition to the local control on the winch. The rugged design made by experienced engi-

NDM oers a wide range o mooring winches with almost unlimited line pulls and speeds,

and covers the complete range o winches or all types and sizes o vessels. NDM’s moor-

ing winches have rugged design and heavy duty split bronze bearings.

The operating mechanism or brakes and clutches are designed or easy and sae manual

operation, but may also be remotely operated by hydraulic cylinders. The brakes are eas-

ily adjustable.

The winch design provides easy access to all points or lubrication and inspections.

Mooring winches can be supplied with a pulling capacity rom 5 to 40 tonnes and are

available in single or multi drum confguration, also split drums. Declutchable mooring

drum is standard. The mooring winches rom NDM can also be delivered with declutch-

able warping end.

The mooringwinches rom NDM can be delivered with Tensioning/auto-tension control.

Ca Scun

Wnchs

NDM has developed a powerful and robust Cargo Securing Winch (CSW) which

is designed for use in the most difcult environments on board PSC vessels. The

winch is delivered with galvanized surace treatment. It is delivered with one drum

and is driven by one hydraulic motor, controlled by a local proportional valve.

For best use on deck, the winch is built with manual disengagement/reewheeling.

Our CSW has a rated capacity of 3-5 tons with a brake holding capacity of 5 tons.

To maintain the safety on deck, the CSW has “failsafe” brake with hydraulic

deactivation.

NDM deliver the cargo securing winches with the following features:

• Drum/ange diameter: Ø240/360 mm • Drum length: 300 mm

• Capacity on drum: 60 m, Ø12 mm wire rope (3 layers) • Hydraulic drive

• Single drum • Rated pull: 3-5 Tonnes

All capstans rom NDM are available with electric or hydraulic drive.

Our electric capstans can be incorporated direct into the deck construction by means o

a oundation pipe piece. The oundation is open at the bottom. That way it can easily be

connect the motor rom below deck.

Our electrical capstans are delivered with requencyconverters or variable speed or

DOL (Direct On Line)

Our hydraulic capstans are mounted on top o the deck and are thereore space saving.

Capstans are delivered with a rated capacity of 3-20 tonnes.

Transponder winches are used or lowering transponders down at the bottom

o the sea as a point o reerence or the vessel.

Transponder winches are normally delivered with spooling device.

The transponder winches from NDM are delivered with the following features:

The spooling winches rom NDM are developed or the o-

shore marked.

It is designed to be used together with a orklit or spooling o

wire.

The winch enables the operator to make wire spools on a winch,

secure the wire, opening the winch and then remove the wire

spool.

These winches are also adapted or cable drums.
