    If I were in the place of Malik and made the in charge of this meeting than I will take several

    steps in order to tackle the situation.

    As the strong difference of opinions exist in this scenario including lack of trust and the personalbiasness so firstly I will call all the members before the commencement of the meeting and will

    make it clear that the aim of this meeting is to make the final decision by keeping aside the

    personal bias or interest. The outcome should be in the favor of the product being launched,

    hence the benefit of the company should be the topmost priority. Also I will guide them to

    respect the opinions of each other by listening their view point. So my first step would be the

    setting the criteria of the meeting so the meeting could result in the positive outcome.

    Then I will ask them to discuss each slogan one by one and those who are in favor of any slogan

    should come up with a logical and valid reason for selecting it and the same goes for those

    opposing it. Then on the basis of all the discussion the positive and negative points about eachslogan will be weighed and the best one meeting the criteria set by the company will be selected.

    So the healthy and friendly discussion will be encouraged. Such discussion and the environment

    will definitely lead to the team work aswell as the trust among the members will be developed.

    Also the logical reasoning will help to choose the best slogan as I would come to know the value

    and the importance of the each slogan thus leading towards the creativity and the innovation.

    Also it will help the members to build trust by listening to each others views. Most importantly

    they will realize the importance of the each others viewsif they will share information with each

    other plus they will get t know about the false perceptions. At the end the slogan which will

    contain the greatest value will be selected on the basis of everyones consensus.

    The reason why I have not chosen option 1 which is to stop the meeting and reschedule it for

    another time is that it will just delay the things and wont be of ant help. The conflict will still

    remain and also it will show that I lack leadership skills.

    Option 2 which is Tell the boss that the group cannot decide is also not a good one as it will

    depict my failure as a team leader. Most importantly I will lose my trust and the confidence in

    the eyes of the boss and next I might not be given the authoritative job.

    Option 3 which is call for a vote will also be useless as it will still be based on the bias and also it

    will show my failure as a leader that I am unable to unite them.

    Option 4 which is Try to come up with an alternative slogan would also be useless because again

    when the members will create their own slogans they will go for them so still the conflict will

    occur and the personal bias will remain. However alternative slogan can be considered if there is

    not a single slogan selected based on the discussion and the selection criteria.

    Option 5 is similar to some extent to my strategy as I will decide the decision criteria but the

    difference is that I will decide the criteria before the meeting that it goes in a smooth manner.

    Option 6 which is As chairperson of the meeting, make the final decision is also not a good one

    because as a team leader my job is not to act like a dictator rather I have to involve others

    together as a team and it should be a mutual decision. It could be disastrous as the views of the

    members are ignored which will increase the level of the conflict and such behavior is totally

    opposite to the team work and the members will be strongly discouraged.

    Option 7 which is ask the group to try to prioritize slogans will be useless as by directly asking

    the team to prioritize the slogans will create conflicts and also it will lead to the personal bias

    again.

    Option 8 which is take it secret ballot vote will not encourage a healthy and logical discussin and

    it wont highlight the main purpose of choosing an appropriate slogan. Also the element of

    personal bias will still exist.

    Option 9 which is accuse Patrus of a conflict of interest is totally useless as it will show my

    inability to become a successful team leader plus the new conflict will rise against me and the

    Patrus.

    Option 10 which is ask Patrus and Sonny to leave the meeting is also not good as this action will

    not only off set my abilities to be a wise and sound team leader and it would rather heat up the

    discussion and will prove me to be a bias person.

    Option 11 which is asking Maria to take over the meeting will again prove me to be a failure in

    management and incapable leader. It will show that I lack leadership skills and it will also

    negatively affect my moral. Also my reputation in front of the others will fall.

    Option 12 which is stop the meeting in order to process what you feel has been happening will

    again prove me to be a failure in management and leadership capabilities and also stopping the

    meeting will further delay the matter and will not be of any help. Also the upper management

    will be dissatisfied by this action as they expect quick decision making.
